Orientation Session for Batch 2025
Today the SPE BUITEMS Student Chapter successfully conducted the Orientation Session for Batch 2025 students.
The session was graced by our respected SPE Advisor, honorable faculty members, and enthusiastic students. During the event, the SPE President delivered an introductory presentation, highlighting the vision, objectives, and opportunities provided by the SPE Student Chapter for students’ professional and personal growth.
The session was followed by an interactive tea break giving students a chance to connect with faculty members and fellow students in a welcoming environment.
A heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and contributed to making this event memorable and successful.

Executive Body – SPE Quetta Chapter Meeting

A productive session focused on discussing upcoming activities, membership growth, and introducing our chapter to new students. The meeting featured insightful discussions, collaborative engagement, and the exchange of innovative ideas. We look forward to continuing our efforts toward professional development and impactful future initiatives.

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Executive Body elections for 2025-2026 were formally announced on 10 October. Interested candidates were invited to submit their applications by the closing date of 17 October. Following a thorough review of all applications the final selection interviews were conducted on 20 October. After completion of the interview process and a comprehensive evaluation during a meeting of faculty advisor and all faculty members of petroleum and gas engineering department BUITEMS candidates were assessed based on merit, leadership potential, and suitability for their respective roles. As a result of this rigorous selection process the following members were finalized and appointed to various designations within the SPE Executive Body.

SPE BUITEMS Student Chapter participated in the 30th Annual Technical Conference (ATC) & Oil Show, 2024 at Pak- China Friendship Center Islamabad.
One of the student participated in the student Paper Contest at
30th SPE Annual Technical Conference & OIL SHOW 2024 held on 18-19th February 2025. The research paper was presented by the recent graduate of Department of Petroleum & Gas Engineering, BUITEMS Quetta "Mr. Shehzad Khan".
Beside, there was approximately more than 1200 professionals attended the conference representing E & P industry, government departments, students and representation from Faculty members from the universities all over Pakistan where PE and G& G being taught.
it was a very wonderful exposure for the students to meet with industrial professionals.

Sprint Oil and Gas Services conducted a successful recruitment test for our recent graduates from the Department of Petroleum and Gas Engineering, BUITEMS, on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

We were honored to welcome the esteemed delegates from Sprint Oil and Gas Services, with a warm reception by Prof. Dr. Ghulamullah Khan Kakar (Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Architecture), Dr. Imtiaz Ali (Chairman, P&G Department), Engr. Syed Israrullah (Faculty Advisor, SPE Student Chapter) and Zafar Abro (Co- Ordinator for Field Affairs). A Shield of Honor was presented as a token of appreciation by the Dean (FoE &A).

SPE, BUITEMS Student Chapter in collaboration with the Department of Petroleum and Gas Engineering have arrange a one day Trip for the 1st and 2nd year students to the Geological Survey of Pakistan (GSP), Quetta Museum on 27th November, 2024.
The students were greeted by an impressive collection of rocks, minerals, and fossils from various regions of Pakistan and also ignited the students passion for Paleontology and left them with a newfound appreciation for the Earth's rich geological heritage.
