ہمیں حال ہی میں جاپان کی شنکانسن بلٹ ٹرینوں کی کہانی نے بہت متاثر کیا اور یہ کہ کس طرح انجینئرز نے فطرت کی خوبصورتی سے ایک اہم مسئلے - "tunnel boom" - کو حل کرنے کے لیے رجوع کیا۔ کنگ فشر نامی ایک خوبصورت پرندے کو پانی میں بغیر کسی شور کے غوطہ لگاتے ہوئے دیکھ کر، انہوں نے ٹرینوں کے اگلے حصے (نوز) ایسے ڈیزائن کیے جو ہوا کی مزاحمت اور آواز کو کم سے کم کرتے ہیں۔

بایومیمکری کی یہ دلچسپ مثال برائٹ ہورائزنز سکول میں ہمارے سوچنے کے انداز سے بہت ملتی ہے۔ جس طرح انجینئرز نے نئے حل تلاش کرنے کے لیے قدرتی دنیا کی طرف دیکھا، اسی طرح ہم ایک ایسا تعلیم کا ماحول بنانا چاہتے ہیں جہاں آپ کے بچوں کو اپنے اردگرد کی دنیا کو غور سے دیکھنے، سوال کرنے اور اس سے سبق حاصل کرنے کی ترغیب ملے۔

ہمارا ماننا ہے کہ سب سے گہری اور پائیدار تعلیم اس وقت ہوتی ہے جب ہم چیزوں کے درمیان تعلق سمجھتے ہیں - یہ جاننا کہ فطرت میں دیکھے گئے اصولوں کو سائنس، ٹیکنالوجی، انجینئرنگ، آرٹس اور ریاضی میں کیسے استعمال کیا جا سکتا ہے۔ حیاتیات میں ایک پتے کی باریک ساخت کو جاننے سے لے کر فزکس میں ہوائی جہاز کے اڑنے کے اصولوں کو سمجھنے تک، ہمارا مقصد آپ کے بچوں کے دلوں میں تجسس اور مسئلہ حل کرنے کی ایک ایسی سوچ پیدا کرنا ہے جس کی جڑیں قدرتی دنیا میں ہوں۔

We were recently very inspired by the story of Japan's Shinkansen bullet trains and how engineers turned to the elegance of nature to solve a significant problem – the "tunnel boom." By observing a beautiful bird called the kingfisher diving into the water without making any noise, they designed the front parts (noses) of the trains in such a way that they minimize air resistance and sound

This interesting example of biomimicry closely aligns with our way of thinking at Bright Horizons School. Just as engineers looked to the natural world to find new solutions, we want to create a learning environment where your children are encouraged to carefully observe the world around them, ask questions, and learn lessons from it

We believe that the deepest and most lasting learning happens when we understand the connections between things – knowing how the principles observed in nature can be used in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. From learning about the detailed structure of a leaf in biology to understanding the principles of how airplanes fly in physics, our goal is to develop a sense of curiosity and a problem-solving mindset in your children that is rooted in the natural world
