Our colleague, Dr. Ayesha Sohail, TMO Medicine at Saidu Group of Teaching Hospitals, Swat, has been diagnosed with highly aggressive Grade 3 Invasive Breast Carcinoma. Her treatment plan is extensive.
Despite serving in the healthcare sector, there is no government policy to financially support healthcare workers battling life-threatening diseases. Dr. Ayesha dedicated her life to saving others now she needs our support to save her own.

When will senior faculty members stop targeting students and start upholding the professionalism expected of their positions?
I’m deeply saddened to share the case of a fellow student who has been subjected to what appears to be a clear act of academic injustice at Gomal Medical College.
He was unexpectedly given a supply in his Obstetrics & Gynaecology Viva/OSPE, despite having a solid academic track record. When he personally met the Dean, Prof. Dr. Naseem Saba, and respectfully asked the reason for his failure, she clearly stated: “No, you performed well, and I know you are a talented and brilliant student — but there were many other reasons for the supply.” This conversation took place in the presence of a professor from the Biochemistry department.
This student has consistently remained among the top 10–15 students of the class, achieving 78–86% marks each year. He has never failed a single theory or viva exam throughout his MBBS journey.
His dedication is well-known among faculty, TMOs, and assistant professors in the Gynae-Obs department, many of whom believe he passed the exam — yet the result sent to the Dean’s office was mysteriously changed to a fail.
Even more concerning is that the Dean mocked the situation, saying “Supply is just a two-month struggle” and laughed about it.
This kind of response, in the face of a student’s mental and emotional distress, is not only unprofessional but also inhumane.
Later, the Dean responded to KMU Controller’s inquiry by citing “short attendance” as the reason for failure — but here’s the truth: over 90 students had short attendance issues.
This student paid the required fine, attended makeup classes and wards, and presented legitimate medical documents (including MRI scans and prescriptions) due to a genuine spine issue — something even the Hospital Dean was aware of.
Throughout the final year, this student was targeted, mentally pressured, and threatened with failure, and now he’s facing the consequence of a deeply personal and unjust decision.

Stipend Difference– KP vs. Other Provinces
KP Post Graduate Residents (TMOs) earn Rs. 90,000/month (Rs. 75,000 after deductions), while:
• Sindh: Rs. 175,000 + free accommodation
• Punjab: Rs. 116,000 + free accommodation
• Aga Khan: Rs. 120,000
KP House Officers get Rs. 65,000, whereas:
• Sindh: Rs. 100,000
• Punjab: Rs. 90,000
Despite 24/7 duties, KP doctors face stagnant stipends, losing real value due to inflation. We demand a fair, inflation-adjusted raise
Congratulations to all the KMCITES who Matched into US residency especially Faraz Waheed of Batch 23🙌. And many other. Well deserved. Ma Sha Allah
A lost PSF-KMC, adrift in strife,
Found hope in Bacha Khan’s light of life,
Where unity and peace ignite the fight.
Long live 🚩
