The highly anticipated Spelling Bee event took place on 29 January 2025 at New Hall bringing together enthusiastic Participants, teachers, and students. The event was a resounding success, showcasing the linguistic skills and determination of young spellers.
The event commenced with the arrival of our distinguished guests including Prof Naveed Ali ( Vice Principal Academics) , Prof.Nasir Iqbal ( HoD English Dept. along with Asst.Prof.Mian Zeeshan ( HoD BS English) and Lecturer Humaira Imran ( English Dept.) who is also the In- Charge of SWAGS.
Our guests were warmly welcomed by the Society's organizers and presented with bouquets of flowers.The ceremony was moderated by Ms.Alveena Aftab .It also included a special opening address by the Chief Guest Prof.Naveed Ali, who encouraged students to continue developing their linguistic skills.
In the contest students from various levels ( Intermediate and BS) showcased their spelling skills. The rounds were divided into three levels: "Spell It!" "Bee Hive "and "Judges Round". Students who spelled correctly in the 1st round proceeded to the next level.
Round two and three were intense and thrilling, with students competing against each other to spell complex words correctly.
After each round,Mr.Junaid from First year had an interactive session with the audience including teachers and students by asking tongue twisters ,riddles and spellings and upon getting correct answer small gifts were also given for motivation.The audience was on the edge of their seats, cheering and supporting their favorite contestants.
The event culminated in an awards ceremony, where the winners were announced and awarded cash prizes,Shields and certificates. Mahnoor Arif from 2nd year was declared as The Champion,Zohaib Khan from BS English 7th Semester was the 1st runner up and Arsham Nadir was the 2nd Runner up . Chief Guest Prof. Naveed Ali along with the Judges and Society In-Charge Lecturer Humaira Imran presented the awards and congratulated the winners on their outstanding performance.
The event concluded with closing remarks from the Judges thanking the Society 's In- Charge, Top contestant, and volunteers for their support and participation. At the end of the event High tea was served.
The Spelling Bee event was a testament to the power of education and the importance of nurturing young talent.
