The students from Jinnah Medical College visited Northwest Institute of Health Sciences (NWIHS) for an informative and educational session aimed at understanding the significance of Allied Health Sciences in modern healthcare systems.
The distinguished guests were warmly welcomed by the Principal of NWIHS, Dr. Shafiq Ur Rehman, PhD, who emphasized the growing importance of Allied Health Sciences in strengthening healthcare delivery and improving patient outcomes.
In his welcome address, he appreciated the collaborative educational initiatives between institutions and encouraged students to explore the diverse career opportunities available in allied health professions.

During the session, Heads of Departments (HODs) from various disciplines delivered comprehensive presentations and shared valuable insights regarding their respective fields.
Each department highlighted the practical role, clinical importance, and technological advancements associated with their profession, while explaining how these specialties contribute significantly to patient diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and critical care management.

The visit concluded with an interactive discussion session, where participants gained a deeper understanding of the multidisciplinary healthcare environment and the vital contribution of Allied Health Sciences in enhancing the quality of patient care.

Research Title Defense Session for DPT Students at Northwest Institute of Health Sciences
Northwest Institute of Health Sciences organized an insightful and productive Research Title Defense Session for Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students, aimed at strengthening their research capabilities and academic development.

The session was led by Dr. Shafiq ur Rehman, PhD, Principal and Head of Research Board-NWIHS, who guided students on the selection of impactful and scientifically relevant research topics.
A panel of experts including, Dr. Usman Khan, Dr. Saba Khan, Dr Ayesha, Dr. Kamran Alam, and Mr. Aqib Usman ensured a comprehensive evaluation of the research proposals.
Eight groups of DPT 9th semester students confidently presented their research proposals before the panel and received valuable feedback, constructive recommendations, and expert guidance for further improvement of their work.

The Closing Ceremony of the Sports Gala, followed by a vibrant Qawali Night, was held at Northwest Institute of Health Sciences with great enthusiasm and excitement.
Prof. Dr. Sardar Mohammad Alam, Chairman of Alliance Healthcare Private Limited, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and distributed trophies, shields, and certificates among the winning teams and organizers in recognition of their outstanding performances and dedicated efforts throughout the Sports Gala.
Dr. Shafiq-ur-Rehman, Principal NWIHS, and Ms. Zile-Huma, Director Operation were also present on the occasion.
The event concluded with a lively Qawali Night, where classical and regional music performances captivated the audience. Students actively participated, creating a joyful and energetic atmosphere while celebrating talent, teamwork, and cultural spirit.

Northwest General Hospital celebrated International Nurses Day 2026 in collaboration with Northwest College of Nursing with great enthusiasm, honoring the dedication and invaluable contributions of nurses to the healthcare system worldwide.
The event featured Holy Quran recitation, the National Anthem, student presentations, poster and sketch competitions, a cake-cutting ceremony, and an oath-taking session for nursing students.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Syed Yousaf Shah, Principal Northwest College of Nursing highlighted the theme “Our Nurses, Our Future: Empowered Nurses Save Lives” and emphasized the importance of quality nursing care.
Prof. Dr. Dildar Muhammad, Dean Faculty of Nursing Sciences, Khyber Medical University Peshawar attended as Chief Guest and acknowledged the vital role of nurses as the backbone of the global healthcare system.
At the same time, Prof. Dr. Sardar Mohammad Alam, Chairman Alliance Healthcare Private Limited (AHL) reaffirmed Northwest’s commitment to excellence in nursing education and clinical training.
The ceremony concluded with shield and certificate distribution among distinguished guests, faculty members, and winning students in recognition of their outstanding participation and achievements.

Seminar on “Eradication of Quackery” held at Northwest Institute of Health Sciences (NWIHS)

Northwest Institute of Health Sciences (NWIHS) successfully organized an informative seminar titled “Eradication of Quackery” in collaboration with the Healthcare Commission Pakistan for the students of NWIHS.
Principal of NWIHS, Dr. Shafiq Ur Rehman, PhD, warmly welcomed the honorable guests and delivered a brief yet inspiring speech highlighting the importance of awareness, ethical healthcare practices, and the collective responsibility to eliminate quackery from society.
The seminar was graced by the presence of representatives from the Healthcare Commission Pakistan, including Ms. Atiya Munir (Inspector) and Mr. Shafeeq (Inspector), who shared valuable and informative knowledge regarding the dangers of quackery, its impact on public health, and the role of healthcare professionals in preventing illegal medical practices.

The session proved highly beneficial and educational for the students, enhancing their understanding of professional ethics and patient safety.
Principal NWIHS also extended special thanks to Ms. Zil-e-Huma, Director Operations, for her valuable assistance and efforts in organizing the seminar successfully.
