Workshop on STEM/STEAM in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa!

It was a privilege to be part of the One-Day Workshop on Reflecting on the STEM/STEAM Journey in KP and Developing a Consolidated Roadmap, organized by the Elementary and Secondary Education Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 👨‍🎓👩‍🎓 University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and facilitated by QUBEC.

The workshop brought together key stakeholders from the Elementary & Secondary Education Department KP, UET Peshawar, QUBEC, Durrani STEM’s @ Service, and a wide range of educationists and experts to reflect on the progress of STEM/STEAM in the province and discuss the way forward.

The discussions focused on the adoption of 21st century skills, the evolution of STEM in KP, curriculum integration, teacher training needs, STEM hubs and centres of excellence, project management for scale-up, and the policy guidelines needed for effective implementation. The panel discussions and breakout sessions created a valuable platform to share lessons learned, identify challenges, and develop practical concept notes for future action.

A key outcome of the workshop was the collaborative effort to develop a consolidated roadmap for strengthening STEM/STEAM education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through aligned, sustainable, and impactful initiatives.

Grateful to all speakers, panelists, participants, and partner institutions for their valuable contributions toward shaping the future of STEM/STEAM education in KP.

Currently, automation is revolutionizing each repetitive task with more precision, accuracy and time effectiveness, resulting in research-oriented outcomes irrespective of field.

To stay competitive globally, we as a nation should keep Education as our top priority to create and nourish problem solvers, innovators and entrepreneurs by equipping them with the right mindset, skills and tools. STEM education is the way forward to develop core competencies and become leaders of tomorrow.
