Pak Everbright Development Organization (P**O), in technical collaboration with the Disability Resource Centre at Islamia College Peshawar, has completed a comprehensive physical accessibility audit of the campus facilities. The assessment was executed by a specialized survey team utilizing P**O’s standardized Checklist for Accessibility Audit—the benchmark evaluation tool applied across public and institutional infrastructure. Supporting photographic documentation has been compiled to substantiate all on-site findings.
Scope of Evaluation
The audit evaluated the built environment to determine the degree of independent mobility accessible to افراد باہم معذوری throughout the university grounds. Key infrastructure points assessed include:
Site Access & Circulation: Exterior approaches, vehicle drop-off zones, designated accessible parking spaces, and primary/secondary building entry points.
Vertical & Horizontal Connectivity: Ramps (evaluating slope gradient, cross-slope, and surface texture), door clearances, corridors, staircases, and handrail continuity.
Facilities & Service Point Mechanics: Adapted washroom layout and fixture specifications, counter heights, and assembly seating integration.
Wayfinding & Safety Integration: Placement, contrast, and tactile standards of directional, informational, and emergency egress signage.
Every observation has been mapped to precise geographic coordinates and architectural features on site, establishing a verifiable photographic and analytical record.
Strategic Impact & Implementation Framework
This initiative establishes an empirical baseline for Islamia College Peshawar. The generated data will allow campus leadership and technical planners to:
Prioritize Intervention: Rank identified physical barriers based on severity, usage volume, and safety requirements.
Resource Allocation: Develop phased, cost-estimated remediation plans aligned with institutional budget cycles.
Progress Benchmarking: Serve as a fixed metric against which future infrastructural modifications and retrofits can be systematically audited.
Furthermore, this deployment establishes a standardized assessment framework capable of rapid replication across other higher education institutions and public sector facilities.
Next Steps
The survey team is finalizing the formal Accessibility Audit Report, which integrates full diagnostic tables, photographic evidence, and prioritized engineering recommendations. The final dossier will be formally submitted upon completion.
We welcome administrative review and invite strategic guidance regarding the selection of the next target institution for deployment.

P**O Signs Agreement with AWKUM for Eco-Friendly Shuttle Service

Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) has signed an agreement with Pak Everbright Development Organization (P**O) to introduce an eco-friendly, accessible, and gender-friendly shuttle service on the university campus.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jamil Ahmad signed the agreement on behalf of AWKUM, while Mr. Shahab Ud Din, CEO P**O, signed on behalf of P**O. The agreement aims to provide safe, reliable, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable mobility for students, faculty, and staff.
Under the agreement, four 14-seater vehicles will initially be introduced in the pilot phase, with the service to be expanded subsequently. The cost of the vehicles, maintenance, e-ticketing, and scanning cards will be borne by P**O, while AWKUM will facilitate the required depot, parking, and service space. AWKUM will charge electricity consumption as per the meter and will also receive the agreed rent per vehicle.
A modern paper/e-ticketing and scanning-card system will also be introduced for passenger convenience. The service will be available to students at a very nominal fare, while students with disabilities, senior citizens aged 55 years and above, and orphan female students will be facilitated free of cost.
The initiative marks an important milestone for AWKUM, promoting sustainable transportation while making campus mobility more accessible and inclusive.
I would like to express my appreciation for the visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jamil Ahmad for taking this important initiative. The efforts of Dr. Tariq Mehmood, Director ORIC, in facilitating and supporting this collaboration are also highly appreciated.
The ECO-Shuttle initiative is expected to contribute significantly towards a cleaner, greener, and more student-friendly AWKUM campus.

آج _پاک ایوربرائٹ ڈویلپمنٹ آرگنائزیشن - پیڈو_ نے _ایگریکلچر یونیورسٹی پشاور_ میں _EFA پراجیکٹ_ کے تحت ورکس ڈیپارٹمنٹ کے لیے کپیسٹی بلڈنگ ٹریننگ سیشن کا انعقاد کیا۔

اس سیشن کی قیادت _سی ای او شہاب الدین_ نے کی۔ انہوں نے _SWDs اور PWDs_ کی سہولت کاری کے لیے پیڈو کے عزم کا اظہار کیا اور _HEC کی SWDs کے لیے پالیسی_ پر تفصیلی روشنی ڈالی۔

ٹریننگ میں ڈیپارٹمنٹ کے ملازمین کو _سماعت سے محروم، گویائی سے محروم اور جسمانی معذوری_ والے طلبہ کی رہنمائی کے طریقوں پر بریفنگ دی گئی۔
ڈیپارٹمنٹ نے عزم کیا کہ وہ یونیورسٹی کے _انفراسٹرکچر کو قابلِ رسائی اور معذور دوست_ بنانے کے لیے ضروری تبدیلیاں لائیں گے۔

اس موقع پر _ایگریکلچر یونیورسٹی میں DRU کے قیام_ کی اہمیت پر بھی زور دیا گیا۔ DRU ایک سہولت کاری مرکز ہوگا جہاں _SWDs_ کو فیس، ہاسٹل اور دیگر امور میں معاونت فراہم کی جائے گی۔

Pak Everbright Development Organization Conducts Accessibility Audit at Islamia College Peshawar

Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – 18 August 2026

A team from Pak Everbright Development Organization (P**O) conducted a comprehensive Accessibility Audit today at Islamia College Peshawar (ICP) as part of the Accessible Pakistan Initiative.

The audit aimed to assess the existing infrastructure and facilities of ICP for persons with disabilities, with a focus on ramps, pathways, washrooms, classrooms, signage, and overall campus accessibility.

During the visit, the P**O team surveyed key areas of the campus, documented barriers, and identified recommendations to make the college more inclusive and compliant with accessibility standards. The team engaged with students and staff to understand the challenges faced by persons with disabilities on campus.

This initiative reflects P**O’s commitment to promoting equal opportunities and barrier-free environments in educational institutions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The findings and recommendations from the audit will be shared with the ICP administration to support the implementation of necessary improvements.

Pak Everbright Development Organization Visits Paraplegic Center Peshawar Factory for FYP Collaboration

Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – 17 August 2026

A delegation from Pak Everbright Development Organization (P**O) visited the Paraplegic Center Peshawar (PPC) Factory today as part of its Final Year Project (FYP) initiatives focused on accessibility and disability inclusion.

On behalf of P**O, the team met with Engineer Salman at the PPC Factory. During the meeting, the delegation briefed him on their project idea and requested support and technical collaboration for the development of assistive solutions under the Accessible Pakistan Initiative

Following the discussion, Engineer Salman facilitated a detailed factory tour where the P**O team observed the manufacturing processes of assistive devices, rehabilitation equipment, and vocational products developed at the center.

The delegation expressed sincere gratitude to the Paraplegic Center Peshawar and to CEO Mr. Shahab Uddin Khan for their warm hospitality, guidance, and commitment to empowering persons with disabilities.

This visit marks an important step toward strengthening collaboration between P**O and PPC to promote innovation, accessibility, and inclusive development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
