Ending on a Historic Note: The 1st Baragali International Conference
As IRSA Cabinet 2024 bids farewell, we proudly present this documentary—our last and biggest event of 2024.
The 1st Baragali International Conference on "The Dynamics of Change in South Asian Region: Borderlands and Frontiers: Navigating Conflict, Flux and Opportunity" was a milestone event, bringing together scholars, policymakers, and students to engage in thought-provoking discussions on conflict, mobility, security and opportunity, with a special focus on the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier.

✨ Special Guests & Keynote
Vice Chancellor of the University of Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naeem Qazi, graced the event, emphasizing the significance of academic dialogue.
Prof. Hassan Abbas delivered a compelling keynote, highlighting the historical and contemporary challenges of borderlands.

The "Symposium on Humanitarian Action", organized by Department of International Relations & ICRC, University of Peshawar, began with opening remarks by *Prof. Dr. Syed Hussain Shaheed Soherwordi. 🌍✨
🔹 He emphasized the significance of humanitarian principles in modern conflicts and how International Humanitarian Law (IHL) aligns with global peace efforts. Reflecting on recent conflicts, he highlighted the protection of civilians and the need for adherence to the Geneva Conventions.
Students actively participated, raising thought-provoking questions about the challenges of implementing IHL, the role of humanitarian organizations in conflict zones, and the future of humanitarian action. 🤝💬
