Khyber Medical College Peshawar hosts a white coat ceremony for the 2023 - 2028 MBBS class on Monday, February 13th, 2023 in the morning at KMC main auditorium. Khyber Medical College held its white coat ceremony to welcome first-year MBBS students into the medical profession.
Chairperson, faculty members & senior students from both basic and clinical sciences were also present. 300 students were enrolled in the new batch, class of 2028! KMC is the pioneer college of Pakistan and a trendsetter in the white coat ceremony.
Dean KMC Prof. Dr. Mahmud Aurangzeb was the chief guest, while heads and faculty of various departments were also present at the occasion.
The ceremony signifies the beginning of medical students' journeys and confers a sense of responsibility and privilege for joining this noble profession. It also symbolizes professionalism, care, and trust, which they must earn from patients.
The heads of various departments also gave introductory presentations. Rules and regulations of the college and hostel were also introduced, along with advice to ensure punctuality in the classroom as the college has a policy of zero tolerance on attendance and irregularities.
The Dean of KMC took an oath from all the newcomers to comply with the highest ethical and moral standards.

Your personality type plays a huge role in your career success especially in the field of medicine. Don’t just randomly apply to a certain field because it’s cool or because everyone else is doing it, assess your personality first and then decide after considering all it’s pros and cons.
For instance, if you know you’re introverted then you might struggle in internal medicine with excessive patient/social interaction and you might enjoy radiology/pathology. Similarly, you might struggle in critical care if you’re very sensitive or an empath by nature and might do good in psychiatry or paediatrics.
We often underestimate the impact of our personality types and jump into certain areas/situations without thinking about the consequences and later regret it. Its always better to have a professional advice but you can also sit with your family/friends and let them assess your personality and guide you to where your talent will be best suited (without struggling too much).
Don’t spend your entire life trying to prove that you’re as good as others because the fact is: everyone has different capabilities and a different personality; you might not be able to withstand what someone else is capable of and your talents might be better used somewhere else. Prioritise your mental health over anything else and don’t waste yourself where you don’t belong.
