Preparation for Law-GAT Test

*Good News*

Thanks to Pakistan Bar Council and special thanks to Muhammad Tariq Afridi ASC Member Pakistan Bar Council for his efforts for legal fraternity. It is indeed a very good news for the apprentices, specifically those who have already availed five (5) chances of LAW-GAT and could not succeeded to score even minimum 47 marks in any of the five (5) chances availed, are now eligible for enrollment with Kp Bar Council and an interview for lower court license. Directions have been issued to Provincial Bar Councils whereas notification in this regard will be issued soon.

Law Graduate Assessment Test for eligibility to seek enrollment as an advocate with bar council but not 50% score is required for passing, now 45% score is required to qualify and to pass the Law-GAT. Deadline for online registration is 13th September, 2021. So register yourselves and start preparation for it.

Syllabus finally amended by Pakistan Bar Council for Law Graduate Assessment Test (LAW-GAT)

Thankyou Pakistan Bar Council for recommendations in favor of young lawyers but this needs to be implemented as well. There's a saying 'Action speaks louder than Words' so considering the aforesaid issues regarding the young cap, the Provincial Bar Councils must be directed to allow all those who secured 40℅ marks in Law-GAT conducted on 30.05.2021. Although this is a One Time Relief but still a Relief. We are very thankful to the Legal Education Committee of Pakistan Bar Council who raised the issue by doing complete justice with the effectees and recommended to save their precious time. Good news for all those who secured 40℅ marks as it falls within the category of One Time Relief so release your stress and get yourselves registered guys. We are looking forward for implementation of other two recommendations as well which is 45℅ passing marks and 5 chances to be provided to each and every candidate and that is a complete justice with the youngsters.

Hello Everyone! I hope you all are doing well. As recently Law-GAT has been conducted for all those who were eligible for it though I have seen many mistakes and repetition in it amounting to 12 Mcqs which is an unsatisfactory act on part of HEC being a testing agency. Now there are many students who wouldn't be able to secure 50% marks in it which is the basic requirement as per their terms and conditions. We have already discussed the matter with some seniors on behalf of you guys and finally came to the conclusion for filing a Writ Petition against HEC giving 12 marks extra to each student because this negligence was on part of them and they are liable to give 12 marks to every student against those 12 Mcqs being a right of all those students. I request you all to be gathered whoever feels aggrieved and discuss the matter either with Muhammad Ameer Muazam Butt or someone else who can file a Writ Petition on behalf of you guys having some sort of knowledge regarding Law-GAT.

A moment of honor for whole legal fraternity welcoming the decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court by quashing the Reference of the Federal Government against Hon’ble Mr. Justice Qazi Faez Isa, Judge Supreme Court of Pakistan. Moreover, it is independence of Judiciary, Rule of Law and Supremacy of the Constitution.
Furthermore, by this decision it has been proud that Judiciary is independent and is not subordinate to any organization.
All the Bar Associations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will observe Saturday 20-6-2020 as Yom-e-Tashakur.

Raffia Arshad 1st hijab-wearing judge in USA.

My family told me to remove my hijab for a scholarship interview, otherwise it'd reduce my selection chances. That was my career's defining moment. I took the risk & decided to keep the hijab on.

I not only got selected for the scholarship in a law school, but today after 17 years of law experience, I am appointed as a 1st hijab-wearing judge in USA.
