Ruling coalition vows to defend parliament but divided over talks with PTI

PPP, MQM-P, and BAP agree that dialogue be held with Imran while JUI-F opposes the idea saying PTI's leader is not a legitimate political actor

The ruling coalition on Tuesday agreed that the parliament’s sovereignty will be safeguarded but failed to reach a consensus on whether the government should hold talks with Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Aaj News reported.

In a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the ruling coalition had a divided opinion on talks with Imran Khan to break the political deadlock in the country.

The meeting, held to mark one year of government by PDM and its allies, discussed the ongoing confrontation between parliament and the Supreme Court.

The government's legal team briefed the participants on the progress of the election delay case in court, where the government passed a bill in parliament to prevent the release of election funding.

While some participants, including Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), and Balochistan National Party (BAP), pushed for dialogue with Imran, representatives from the Jamiat-e-Ulema-Fazl (JUI-F) opposed the option, stating that Khan was not a legitimate political force to engage with.

In response, Bilawal argued that closing the door on negotiations was undemocratic.

The development comes a day after Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq met both prime minister Shehbaz Sharif and PTI chairman Imran Khan within a span of a few hours with a view to bringing both the "warring" sides closer to holding talks on the issue of elections.

Soon after, the PTI chief formed a three-member committee to hold talks with JI.

Meanwhile, the PPP has also initiated dialogue within the ruling coalition with a view to pull the country out of the prevailing political and constitutional crises.

A PPP delegation led by former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday held a round of talks with PML-N leaders and exchanged views on the prevailing political situations.

Earlier, the PPP delegation also held meetings with Awami National Party (ANP) and other coalition partners

امین الحق کا کہنا ہے کہ گوگل اور ٹک ٹاک نے سکیورٹی ایکسچینج میں رجسٹریشن کرا دی ہے۔

وفاقی وزیر برائے انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی سید امین الحق کا کہنا ہے کہ پاکستان کے معاشی بحران اور سیاسی تبدیلی کی وجہ سے ملک میں فائیو جی انٹرنیٹ سروس لانے میں مشکلات کا سامنا کرنا پڑ رہا ہے۔
کراچی میں اردو نیوز سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے کہا کہ ’تمام ٹیلی کام کمپنیز سے رابطے میں ہیں، ہماری کوشش ہے کہ رواں سال کے اختتام تک ملک کے چند بڑے شہروں میں تیز ترین انٹرنیٹ سروس متعارف کروا دی جائے۔‘
امین الحق کا کہنا تھا کہ ’ملک میں نوجوان آئی ٹی کے شعبے میں کام کر کے پاکستان کے لیے زرمبادلہ کما رہے ہیں۔ یہ ملک کی معیشت میں ریڑھ کی ہڈی کی حیثیت رکھتے ہیں۔ انہیں سہولیات فراہم کرنا ہماری ذمہ داری ہے۔‘

وفاقی وزیر نے کہا کہ فری لانس کام کرنے والوں کو رقم کی وصولی میں مشکلات کا سامنا کرنا پڑتا ہے، اس سلسلے میں آئی ٹی منسٹری فری لانسرز کے ساتھ رابطے میں ہے۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ ’فری لانسرز کو اکاؤنٹ کھولنے میں مشکلات کا سامنا کرنا پڑتا ہے اس کے علاوہ ایف بی آر کی جانب سے مختلف سوالات شروع ہو جاتے ہیں۔ آئی ٹی منسٹری سٹیٹ بینک آف پاکستان اور ایف بی آر کے ساتھ مل کر معاملات کو بہتر سے بہتر کرنے کی کوشش کر رہی ہے۔‘
امین الحق کے مطابق گوگل اور ٹک ٹاک نے سکیورٹی ایکسچینج میں رجسٹریشن کرا دی ہے۔ فیس بک اور ٹوئٹر سمیت دیگر بڑی کمپنیز سے بات چیت جاری ہے۔ امید ہے جلد ہی بڑی کمپنیز پاکستان میں اپنا دفتر قائم کریں گی۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ ’ایم کیو ایم ایک بڑی سیاسی جماعت ہے، ہماری ہمیشہ سے کوشش رہی ہے کہ ملک میں جمہوری روایت قائم و دائم رہنی چاہیے اور پارلیمنٹ کی بالادستی ہونی چاہیے۔‘
’سپریم کورٹ کی غیر جانبداری اور آزادی پر بھی حرف نہ آئے۔ ایم کیو ایم پاکستان وزیراعظم شہباز شریف سے مسلسل رابطے میں ہے۔ ہماری یہ خواہش تھی کہ معاملات بات چیت کے ذریعے حل کر لیے جائیں۔ اس کا ایک ہی حل ہے کہ انتخابات ہونے چاہییں۔ انتخابات کب ہونے چاہییں اس پر بات چیت جاری ہے۔ ہم چاہتے ہیں کہ ڈیجیٹل مردم شماری مکمل ہو اور نئی حلقہ بندیوں کی بنیاد پر انتخابات ہوں۔‘
امین الحق نے کہا کہ ’جماعت اسلامی سمیت پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی مذاکرات کی کوشش کر رہی ہے۔ پیپلز پارٹی اور عوامی نیشنل پارٹی کا وفد اس سلسلے میں ایم کیو ایم کے وفد سے ملاقات کرے گا۔ سیاست میں بات چیت کا دروازہ ہمیشہ کھلا رہنا چاہیے اور کبھی ڈیڈ لاک نہیں آنا چاہیے۔‘

امین الحق نے کہا کہ مہنگائی کے خلاف حکومت اور اپوزیشن کو ایک پیج پر آنا چاہیے۔

امین الحق کا کہنا تھا کہ ’ملک میں بڑھتی مہنگائی ایک اہم مسئلہ ہے، ملک میں پیٹرولیم مصنوعات کی قیمتوں میں اضافے سمیت دیگر مسائل پر ایم کیو ایم نے ہمیشہ آواز بلند کی ہے اور ہم عوام کے ساتھ کھڑے رہے ہیں۔‘
انہوں نے کہا کہ مہنگائی کے خلاف حکومت اور اپوزیشن کو ایک پیج پر آنا چاہیے۔ عام آدمی کو ریلیف دینے کے لیے ہر ممکن کوشش کرنی چاہیے۔
