A seminar on the topic of “Health and Safety Awareness” was conducted on May 12, 2022 in the main Seminar Hall, Department of Geology, University of Peshawar. MR. Ansar Mahmood, Health Safety and Environment (HSE) corporate manager, SALCEF, shared his knowledge and expertise regarding health, safety & environment. He also talked about job market and opportunities in HSE particularly for Geology students.
An interactive question answer session was followed after the Mr. Ansar's talk. Shield distribution was arranged at the end of the session.

The first meeting of Geo Comm was conducted on February 09, 2022 at the Department of Geology, University of Peshawar. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Sajjad Ahmad, Chairman Departement of Geology. Dr. Suleman Khan, incharge of Geo Comm affairs was also present at the occasion. The Chairman, Department of Geology welcomed all the participants in the meeting and said that the Geo Comm is reactivated for exploring the hidden talents of the geology students. He said that under the umbrella of Geo Comm various curricular and extra curricular activities e.g. seminars, quiz and debate competitions, welcome and fair well parties, sport weeks etc. will be arranged. In the meeting an acting cabinet for the year 2022-23 was finalised amongst the interested students from all classes with due representation of female students. The Chairman, Department of Geology congratulated the new cabinet with the instructions to keep the Geo Comm apolitical, transparent, neutral, and productive in the best interests of the students and department. The cabinet decided to conduct a debate competition in English, Urdu, and Pashto languages amongst all students of the department in first instance. The following topics were approved for the debate.
