USEFUL TERMS IN CRYPTO
BTC - the king of crypto. First block created on 9 January 2009
Alts - all coins/tokens except BTC.
Entry - the price you enter any trade, usually the buying price
Exit - the price you exit a trade with profit (or loss).
Long - A futures trade where you predict price will go up
Short - a futures trade where you predict price will go down
VPS - Virtual Private Server, used to deploy and integrate a Masternode.
Masternode - a full node, which validates transactions within blockchain ecosystem and gets rewards. Can be considered virtual mining. Only gives rewards of the same crypto you have Masternode of.
Mining - Generating processing power to validate/authorise blocks, which allow transactions to approve.
HODL - Hold On to Dear Life, meaning do not sell in loss.
Whales - huge investors. E.g 1000 bitcoin owners
Bearish - down trend market
Bullish - up trend market
Pump and dump - up and down. E.g s**t coins.
ICO - Initial coin offering
IEO - Initial exchange offering
FUD - creating “fear, uncertainty and doubt”.
Sh*tcoin - bad project, no aims/pointless aims and no team.
Hype - promoting a coin extensively / some times unrealistically.
FOMO - fear of missing out.
Shilling - doing secretive marketing, which may seem it is genuine but actually the person is getting paid to promote a project/coin.
ATH - All Time High, it can be in different time frames such as 24 hours to 1 year/more.
ATL - All Time Low. Can be in different time frames.
Defi - decentralised finance, used for loans, etc.
DEX - decentralised exchanges like uniswap, etc.
