Internship Opportunity with NHMP
Under QUEST–NHMP Collaboration

Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science & Technology, Nawabshah (QUEST), through the Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), in coordination with the Directorate of Industrial Liaison (DIL), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP).

Under this collaboration, internship opportunities are being offered for 3rd-Year / Pre-Final Year students to gain practical exposure in road safety, traffic management, public service, institutional discipline, and field-based learning.

Tentative Duration:
08 June 2026 to 19 July 2026
06 Weeks

Eligible Departments:
Computer Systems Engineering, Software Engineering / Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence / Data Science, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mathematics & Statistics, and Management Sciences.

Internship Areas:
AI-based driver drowsiness detection, dashcam-based driver distraction detection, surveillance camera-based highway hazard / accident detection and reporting with auto alerts for NHMP and highway users, route management and diversion planning, digital licence verification, QR-based vehicle/document verification, accident hotspot mapping and risk analysis, emergency response systems, helpline data analysis, road safety awareness campaigns, and decision-support dashboards.

Interested students may contact their concerned Departmental Chairperson. Nominations may be forwarded by the concerned Chairperson to the Directorate of Industrial Liaison (DIL) and ORIC, QUEST, for further coordination.

MoU Signed Between QUEST and National Highways & Motorway Police

Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science & Technology, Nawabshah (QUEST), and the National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote student internships, road safety awareness, training, and future institutional collaboration.

Under this initiative, QUEST final-year students from different departments will be provided internship opportunities with NHMP during the summer vacations, along with practical exposure to road safety, traffic management, discipline, and public service.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Saleem Raza Samo, Vice Chancellor QUEST; Prof. Dr. Kishan Chand Makwana, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Engr. Agha Shiraz A. Khan, Director ORIC / Convener Students Consultative Bureau; Prof. Dr. Intesab Hussain Sadhayo, Dean Faculty of Computer Science / Director Industrial Liaison; Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ramzan Lohar, Dean Faculty of Civil & Mechanical Engineering; and Prof. Dr. Rajub Ali Malookani, Chairman, Department of Mathematics and Statistics.

A comprehensive meeting was convened with Sectional Heads and Deans to deliberate on strategic initiatives for the incoming Batch ’26.

Foundation Semester: Reviewed framework to facilitate a seamless academic transition for new entrants.

Orientation Program: Finalized structure for capacity-building sessions aimed at acclimating students to university standards.

Academic Bridging: Outlined measures to bridge curricular and pedagogical gaps between college and university education.

Student Development: Emphasized holistic grooming with focus on professional competencies, communication skills, and leadership.
