Worthy Vice Chancellor, University of Narowal, Professor Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, met with Pro Chancellor and Minister for Higher Education Punjab, Mr. Rana Sikandar Hayat.

During the meeting, the Worthy Vice Chancellor briefed the Pro Chancellor in detail about the upcoming Syndicate Meeting of the University of Narowal, including important academic and institutional matters to be presented before the Syndicate.

University of Narowal and NCHD Strengthen Collaboration to Promote Literacy through "Each One Teaches One" (EOTO) Initiative

The University of Narowal (UON) continues its commitment to eradicate illiteracy under its flagship subject, "Civics and Community Engagement" through the "Each One Teaches One" (EOTO) program, in collaboration with the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD).

For the past one and a half years, UON and NCHD have been jointly working to promote literacy across the region. Currently, the EOTO project has been actively carried out across various departments of the university of Narowal

This impactful initiative is being organized by the Allied Department under the leadership of Head of Department, Dr. Waqas Ali Khan, in collaboration with the NCHD team comprising Sir Shahzad Hamayoon
Deputy Director ( Operations)
and Sir Shafiq Ahmad Khalid Assistant Director. The program is being effectively operationalized by the esteemed faculty of Sociology, Ms. Khansa Afzal, Ms. Maham Fatima, and Ms. Rabia Afzal, who are teaching Civics and Community Engagement.

Through this sustained partnership, the University of Narowal reaffirms its dedication to community service and its vital role in reducing the illiteracy rate in Pakistan in line with the national development goals.

As a testament to its commitment, almost 1500 students of the University of Narowal have taken an oath to teach at least one illiterate individual in their respective regions, playing their part in reducing illiteracy and contributing to a more literate Pakistan.

FEDERAL MINISTER AHSAN IQBAL INAUGURATES PCB CRICKET TALENT HUNT PROGRAM AT NATIONAL SPORTS CITY NAROWAL

Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives and Founder University of Narowal, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, inaugurated the Cricket Talent Hunt Programme organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) at the National Sports City Narowal.

On the occasion, the Federal Minister distributed cricket kits among young and aspiring cricketers, including shirts, bats, helmets, and other essential cricket equipment.

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Ahsan Iqbal emphasized that providing young people with better opportunities and sports facilities remains among the government’s priorities. He highlighted that the National Sports City Narowal is emerging as an excellent platform for the youth to discover, develop, and showcase their sporting talent.

The initiative reflects the vision of empowering Narowal’s youth by providing them with quality opportunities to pursue their passion and compete at higher levels.

IN CONNECTION WITH 75 YEARS OF PAK-CHINA FRIENDSHIP
CELEBRATING TALENT, ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE & PAK–CHINA FRIENDSHIP

The journey began with an Inter-Departmental Essay Writing Competition, which was subsequently advanced to the Inter-University level, bringing together talented students from different universities to express their perspectives on:
“75 Years of Pakistan–China Friendship: Diplomatic Relations — Past, Present & Future.”
Students from participating universities took part enthusiastically, showcasing their creativity, analytical thinking, and understanding of the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China.
Following the competition, the top three positions were announced, recognising the outstanding performance and dedication of the winning participants. 🥇🥈🥉
The visiting students and guests were warmly welcomed at the University of Narowal, where they had the opportunity to visit the campus, explore its academic environment, and interact with members of the university community. Refreshments were also arranged as a gesture of hospitality and appreciation. The occasion provided a meaningful platform for interaction, idea exchange, and strengthening academic and institutional linkages. 🤝
The Worthy Vice Chancellor, University of Narowal, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq (T.I.), appreciated the initiative and encouraged such academic and inter-university activities aimed at promoting student engagement, healthy competition, and meaningful educational exchange.

Kinza Batool, a proud graduate of the University of Narowal, completed her BS and then pursued her MS in South Korea on the fully funded Global Korea Scholarship (GKS). Today, she is continuing her academic journey as a PhD Scholar in South Korea, turning her dreams into reality through dedication, hard work, and determination. 🎓🌏

Returning to her alma mater, Kinza conducted an inspiring and informative session with MPhil students, where she shared her personal experience of studying in South Korea and guided students on opportunities for fully funded scholarships, higher education, and international academic journeys.
