اب فیس بک استعمال کریں بغیر اکاﺅنٹ کے
جی ہاں اب آپ کو فیس بک پر موجود اپنے دوستوں کو پیغامات بھیجنے کے لیے اس سماجی رابطے کی ویب سائٹ کے اکاﺅنٹ کی ضرورت نہیں۔

دنیا کے مقبول ترین سوشل نیٹ ورک نے اپنے میسنجنگ پلیٹ فارم فیس بک میسنجر میں گزشتہ ماہ اس بڑی تبدیلی کا اعلان کیا تھا تاہم اس پر عملدرآمد 18جولائی سے شروع ہوا ہے۔

اب آپ بغیر فیس بک اکاﺅنٹ کے بھی میسنجر ایپلیکشن کو استعمال کرسکتے ہیں۔

صارفین کو واٹس ایپ کی طرح بس خود کو فیس بک میسنجر پر اپنے مکمل نام اور موبائل فون نمبر کی مدد سے رجسٹر کرنا ہوگا اور بس!

یا یہ بھی کہا جاسکتا ہے کہ آپ کواس اپلیکشن پرسائن اِن ہونے کے لیے بس اپنا پورانام اور فون نمبر ڈالنے کی ہی ضرورت ہوگی۔

اس کے بعد فیس بک کی جانب سے صارفین کو سوشل میڈیا اکاﺅنٹ پر موجود اپنے دوستوں سے رابطے کا طریقہ بتایا جائے گا، یہ سہولت اسمارٹ فونز سے لے کر ٹیبلیٹ صارفین کے لیے دستیاب ہوگی۔

فیس بک انتظامیہ کا کہنا ہے کہ اس نئی اپ ڈیٹ سے زیادہ سے زیادہ لوگ میسنجر کو استعمال کرسکیں گے اور وہاں انہیں تصاویر، ویڈیوز، گروپ چیٹ، وائس و ویڈیو کالنگ، اسٹیکرز اور دیگر سہولیات میسر ہوں گی۔

میسنجر بنیادی طور پر فیس بک کی موبائل ایپلیکشن کا حصہ تھی تاہم فیس بک نے گزشتہ سال اسے اپنے سوشل نیٹ ورک سے الگ کردیا تھا۔

فیس بک کی جانب سے میسنجر میں 2012 میں بھی بغیر اکاﺅنٹ کے سائن اپ کی سہولت فراہم کی گئی تھی تاہم اسے جلد ہی ختم کردیا گیا تھا۔

تاہم اب یہ فیچر دنیا بھر میں متعارف کرادیا گیا ہے جس سے پہلے صرف کینیڈا، امریکا، پیرو اور وینزویلا کے صارفین مستفید ہورہے تھے۔

میں ایک سال میں پانچ انٹرنیٹ کنکشن تبدیل کر چکی ہوں۔ براڈبینڈ، مائی فائی، کیبل نیٹ، فائب آپٹک، ایوو شیوو، آپ جس سروس کا بھی نام لیں، وہ دوسرے سے بری ہی ہے۔ لگتا ہے کہ اب ایک اچھے انٹرنیٹ کنکشن کی امید چھوڑ ہی دینی چاہیے۔ انٹرنیٹ اتنا سست ہے کہ مجھے ڈائل اپ کے دن یاد آجاتے ہیں۔
مجھے اور مجھ جیسے پاکستان کے دیگر انٹرنیٹ صارفین کو انٹرنیٹ کے حوالے سے جن مشکلات کا سامنا رہتا ہے، ان کی بناء پر پاکستان میں Internet.org کی لانچ پر پریشان ہونا بنتا ہے۔ internet.org بظاہر انٹرنیٹ کی مفت فراہمی یقینی بناتا ہوا دکھائی دیتا ہے، جس کی مدد سے ہر کوئی انٹرنیٹ سے کنیکٹ ہو کر دنیا بھر کی معلومات حاصل کر سکے گا۔ سننے میں اچھا ہے نہ؟ لیکن اتنا بھی اچھا نہیں۔

ہم میں سے کچھ لوگ انٹرنیٹ کئی سالوں سے استعمال کر رہے ہیں، کئی مختلف ویب سائٹس آزما چکے ہیں، اور کئی سوشل نیٹ ورکس استعمال کر کے چھوڑ چکے ہیں۔

لیکن اگلی ایک دہائی میں جو ایک ارب لوگ انٹرنیٹ تک رسائی حاصل کریں گے، بڑی کارپوریشنز اور حکومتیں ان کے لیے سب کچھ بدل دینا چاہتی ہیں۔ چاہے صارف افورڈ کر سکتا ہو یا نہیں، اسے کن چیزوں تک رسائی حاصل ہوگی، یہ فیصلہ کارپوریشنز اور حکومتیں ہی کریں گی۔

کارپوریشنز اور حکومتیں پہلے ہی پوشیدہ طور پر ہمارا ڈیٹا استعمال کر کے منافع کما رہی تھیں، یا مکمل طور پر کنٹرول چاہتی تھیں۔ اب ہم کس طرح کنیکٹ ہوتے ہیں یا رابطے کرتے ہیں، یہ فیصلہ بھی انہی کے ہاتھ میں ہوگا۔

لاہور(اُردو پوائنٹ اخبار تازہ ترین۔10 اپریل۔2015ء) پاکستان ٹیلی کمیونیکیشن اتھارٹی کے چیئرمین سید اسماعیل شاہ نے کہا ہے کہ سموں کی تصدیق کی ڈیڈ لائن میں مزید توسیع نہیں ہوگی اور 12 اپریل کے بعد تمام غیر تصدیق شدہ سمیں بند کردی جائیں گی‘ غیر ملکی باشندوں پر 2 سے زائد سمیں رکھنے پر پابندی لگادی گئی ہے‘ ابھی یو ٹیوب کی بحالی کا کوئی فیصلہ نہیں ہوا۔جمعہ کویہاں میڈیا سے بات کرتے ہوئے سید اسماعیل شاہ نے کہا کہ اب تک ملک بھر میں 7 کروڑ 70 لاکھ سموں کی تصدیق کی جاچکی ہے جب کہ ڈیڑھ کروڑ سمیں بند کی جا چکی ہیں، سموں کی بائیو میٹرک تصدیق کی آخری تاریخ 12 اپریل ہے جس کے بعد تمام غیر تصدیق شدہ سمیں بند کردی جائیں گی اور سموں کی تصدیق کے لئے دی گئی ڈیڈ لائن میں مزید توسیع نہیں ہوگی۔انہوں نے کہا کہ یوٹیوب پر عائد پابندی کے حوالے سے ان کا کہنا تھا کہ اس حوالے سے غور جاری ہے تاہم ابھی یو ٹیوب کی بحالی کا کوئی فیصلہ نہیں ہوا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ انٹرنیشنل رومنگ روکنے کا ہمارے پاس کوئی نظام نہیں جب کہ غیر ملکی باشندوں پر 2 سے زائد سمیں رکھنے پر پابندی لگادی گئی ہے۔

Whatsapp Hacked :
The popular mobile messaging
application WhatsApp Messenger has a major design
flaw in its cryptographic implementation that could allow
attackers to decrypt intercepted messages, according to
a Dutch developer.
The problem is that the same key is used to encrypt
both outgoing and incoming streams between the client
and the WhatsApp server, said Thijs Alkemade, a
computer science and mathematics student at Utrecht
University in the Netherlands and lead developer of the
open-source Adium instant messaging client for Mac OS
X.
"RC4 is a PRNG [pseudo-random number generator] that
generates a stream of bytes, which are xored [a crypto
operation] with the plaintext that is to be encrypted. By
xoring the ciphertext with the same stream, the plaintext
is recovered," Alkemade said Tuesday in a blog post that
describes the issue in detail.
Because of this, if two messages are encrypted with the
same key and an attacker can intercept them, like on an
open wireless network, he can analyze them to cancel
out the key and eventually recover the original plaintext
information.
Reusing the key in this manner is a basic crypto
implementation error that the WhatsApp developers
should have been aware of, Alkemade said Wednesday.
It's a mistake made by the Soviets in the 1950s and by
Microsoft in its VPN software in 1995, he said.
Alkemade released proof-of-concept exploit code for the
vulnerability, but initially tested it on the WhatsPoke
open-source library, not on the official WhatsApp client.
Since then he has confirmed that the issue exists in the
WhatsApp clients for Nokia Series 40 and Android
devices.
"I don't think the situation will be different with the iOS
client," he said.
WhatsApp also uses the same RC4 encryption key for
HMAC (hash-based message authentication code)
operations to authenticate messages.
This allows an attacker to intercept a message sent by a
user to the server and resend it back to the user as if it
came from the WhatsApp server, but this is not
something that can be easily exploited, Alkemade said.
The Dutch developer didn't attempt to contact WhatsApp
before disclosing the issue publicly. "I thought that it's
important for people to know that WhatsApp is not
secure and I didn't expect them to fix it rapidly," he said.
Fixing this doesn't require rethinking the entire
encryption implementation, Alkemade said. If they add a
method to generate different keys for encryption in both
directions, as well as for message authentication, then
the problem is solved, he said.
According to Alkemade, users for now should assume
that anyone who can intercept their WhatsApp
connections can also decrypt their messages and should
consider their previous WhatsApp conversations
compromised.
