APS was established in 1987 as Neelum Nursery School on a very small scale. No one at that time could imagine that this small sapling would become a strong tree tomorrow. It was converted to Army Junior Public School in 1989. It got upgraded to Secondary (SSC)level in 1999. It was therefore named as "Army Public School. It obtained the status of a college in 2004. it was then renamed as Army Public School & College. In 2005 all APSs & Cs of the country were renamed as Army Public Schools & Colleges System (APSACS) and brought under the control of APSACS Secretariat, established at Army Central Library GHQ.
