The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Department of Public Health students had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a field visit on the 24th of June 2023. The field visit was arranged under the umbrella of the Department of Public Health & Public Health Society with the support of our esteemed Departmental Chairperson: Dr. Adnan Altaf, Dean of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences: Dr. Bashir ur Rahman, Director of Student Affairs: Dr. Imtiaz Awan, Director of Finance: Dr. Bilal Abbasi,Transport Officer Miraj Abbasi & Mr. Zahid Aziz Mughal.
During the field visit, we explored various places in Murree, including Nathia Gali, Mall Road, and Suzu Park(Lower T**a). Under the guidance and Supervision of Dr. Adnan Altaf Sheikh, Madam Shabnam and the dedicated staff of the Department of Public Health, we focused on important aspects such as Personal Hygiene, Public Hygiene, and Environmental Hygiene.

The day was truly amazing, especially with the refreshing rain that embraced the surroundings. It was an enriching experience to witness firsthand the practical application of what we have been learning in our academic journey.

We the students of the Public Health Department/members of the Public Health Society are grateful for the support & facilitation from the Public Health Department & The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir for providing us with such a wonderful & great learning opportunity.

The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) had the privilege of hosting a visit from the Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Mr. Neil Hawkins. Mr. Hawkins and his team came to the UAJK city campus for a productive meeting on Wednesday. The Vice-Chancellor of UAJK, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi, along with other university officials, warmly welcomed the High Commissioner and discussed ways to strengthen the relationship between UAJK and Australia through collaboration and cooperation.

ایک ایسا عمل ہے جو انسان کو اپنے رب کی محبت اور رضا کا حقیقی حقدار بناتا ہے۔خدمت خلق کا آسان طریقہ یہ ہے کہ دوسرے انسانوں کے لیے آسانیاں پیدا کرنے والا بنا جائے۔
آزاد جموں و کشمیر یونیورسٹی کے ملازم رفیق اعوان نے ایسے ہی نیک عمل کی ابتدا کی۔
رفیق صاحب کو آج سٹی کیمپس میں صفائی کرتے دیکھا گیا۔ان سے سوال کرنے پہ جواب ملا کہ "یہ یونیورسٹی میری ہے(میرا گھر ہے) ۔اپنے گھر کی بہتری کے لیے کام کرنا مجھ پہ فرض ہے جب تلک مجھ میں ہمت ہے میں جامعہ کے مفاد میں کام کرتا رہوں گا،انشاءاللہ"۔

مزید استفسار کرنے پہ انکا موقف تھا،" جب بھی صبح یا شام کے وقت میں یونیورسٹی کے بچوں کے بیٹھنے والے بینچوں(Benches) کی حالت دیکھتا ہوں اکثر یہ مٹی/ کیچڑ لگنے کی وجہ سے گندے ہوتے ہیں۔ اگر جب کوئی ہمت کر کے انکو صاف کر بھی دے تو جامعہ کے طالب علم ان بینچز کے بیٹھنے والی جگہ پہ گندے جوتے/ پائوں رکھ کر بیٹھ جاتے اور پھر سے انکو کو گندہ کر دیتے ہیں۔ جسکے نتیجے میں طالبات کو زمین یا فرش پہ یا نامناسب جگہ پہ بیٹھنا پڑتا یہ نہایت دکھ بھری حقیقت ہے۔ آج میں عہد کرتا ہوں کہ آج کے بعد میں ان benches اور ٹیبلز کو کبھی گندہ نہیں ہونے دوں گا اور کیمپس کی صفائی کی مہم میں شعبہ پبلک ہیلتھ کے طلباوطالبات کے شانہ بشانہ چلو گا، انشاء اللہ"۔
شعبہ پبلک ہیلتھ اور پبلک ہیلتھ سوسائٹی رفیق اعوان کے اس خدمت خلق کے عمل کو سراہتے ہیں اور اسکی قبولیت و جزائے خیرکے لیے اللہ پاک سے دعاگو ہیں،آمین۔سٹی کیمپس کے تمام طلباوطالبات سے اپیل کرتے ہیں کیمپس کی صفائی کی مہم میں ہمارا ساتھ دیں۔

الحمد اللہ!
24 مارچ بروز جمعہ جامعہ کشمیر فیکلٹی آف ہیلتھ اینڈ میڈیکل سائنسز کے شعبہ پبلک ہیلتھ اور پبلک ہیلتھ سوسائٹی کے طلباء و طالبات نے چیرپرس شعبہ پبلک ہیلتھ کی موجودگی میں ایک آگاہی سیشن کا انعقاد کیا جس میں شعبہ کے کوآرڈینیٹر ڈاکٹر عدنان الطاف شیخ اور شعبہ کے دیگر طلباء و طالبات نے مرض ٹی بی کے پھیلاؤ اور اس سے بچاؤ کی تدابیر پر روشنی ڈالی ۔
اس کے علاؤہ شعبہ کے پہلے batch سے عاتکہ ذولفقار اور دوسرے batch سے مسکان نے ٹی بی پر سیر حاصل گفتگو کی ۔
علاؤہ ازیں پبلک ہیلتھ سوسائٹی کی پریزیڈنٹ تہلیل فاطمہ نے سوسائٹی نے بارے میں آگاہی فراہم کی اور اسی موضوع پر ایک کوئز کروایا جس میں تمام طلباء نے بڑھ چڑھ کر حصہ لیا ۔
سیشن کے آخر پر ڈاکٹر عدنان الطاف شیخ صاحب نے ٹی بی پر لیکچر دیا اور طلباء کے اس پرفارمینس پہ خوشی کا اظہار کیا اور ان کی خدمات کو سراہا ۔

جامعہ کشمیر، فیکلٹی آف ہیلتھ اینڈ میڈیکل سائنسز کے شعبہ پبلک ہیلتھ اور پبلک ہیلتھ سوسائٹی کے طلباء و طالبات نے ایک ری یونین تقریب کا انعقاد کیا ۔ جس میں سیشن 2021-25 اور سیشن -26 2022 کے تمام طلبہ نے شرکت کی۔ تقریب کا انعقاد کشمیر سٹڈیز حال چہلہ کیمپس میں کیا گیا جس میں جامعہ کے الیمنائے سوہیل عباسی ، شعبہ کے کوآرڈینیٹر، ڈائریکٹر سٹوڈنٹس افیئرز اور شعبہ کے دیگر اساتذہ کرام نے شرکت کی اور طلباء کی پرفارمینس پہ خوشی کا اظہار کیا۔

سے بچاؤ اور علاج پر سیر حاصل گفتگو ہوئی۔
