📢 Excited to Share My Latest Research!
I am pleased to announce that my latest article, co-authored with Dr. Shaista Rashid, has been published in Education Sciences (MDPI):

This study investigates how Trait Emotional Intelligence (TEI) shapes English language learners’ experiences in Pakistan’s exam-driven, teacher-centered classrooms. Our findings show that while well-being universally enhances learners’ attitudes, motivation, and engagement, other dimensions of TEI—such as emotionality and sociability—operate differently in this context. Most importantly, we highlight the role of contextual adaptability (e.g., navigating Urdu–English code-switching) as a key predictor of motivation and anxiety management.
🔑 Why this matters:
It challenges the assumption that TEI functions the same way everywhere.
It calls for a Contextually Stratified TEI Framework tailored to Global South realities.
It offers practical implications for teachers and curriculum developers to better support learners’ emotional well-being.
I hope this work sparks further dialogue on the importance of emotion, culture, and context in second language acquisition. I look forward to connecting with researchers, educators, and practitioners interested in TESOL, EdTech, and AI in education.

Using bootstrapped multiple regression and culturally adapted instruments (Cronbach’s α...
