Baloch Students Council Islamabad Condemns the Enforced Disappearance of Nabeel Arman

BSC Islamabad condemns the enforced disappearance of Nabeel Arman, a graduate of the National University of Modern Languages (English Literature) and a former member of BSC Islamabad. This grave incident represents yet another alarming escalation in the systematic targeting of Baloch students and political voices.

According to a firsthand account by his colleague, Saeed, the abduction occurred at approximately 6:15 PM at the office of Climate Action and Energy Access in Islamabad. Two unidentified men, dressed in black shalwar kameez, entered the premises and falsely claimed to be officials from an “investigation department,” introducing themselves as CIA personnel. After demanding and checking the National Identity Cards of Nabeel Arman and Saeed, they separated the two—one officer escorting Saeed away for questioning while others confiscated Nabeel’s mobile phone.

Moments later, Nabeel Arman was forcibly taken downstairs and pushed into a white Land Cruiser. An eyewitness confirmed that two additional individuals were already seated in the front row of the vehicle. When questioned, the abductors claimed that Nabeel was being taken to Shalimar Police Station. However, subsequent verification revealed that neither Nabeel Arman nor the alleged officers were ever brought to that station.

That such an enforced disappearance could occur in the federal capital, in broad daylight, exposes the hollowness of claims about rule of law and due process. The targeting of students on the basis of identity is not an isolated incident but part of a wider policy of intimidation aimed at silencing dissent and criminalizing Baloch existence and political expression.

The Baloch Students Council Islamabad demands the immediate and safe release of Nabeel Arman and holds the state fully responsible for his life and well-being. We urge human rights organizations, civil society, media institutions, and the judiciary to take urgent notice of this crime, ensure transparent accountability, and adopt concrete measures to guarantee the safety, dignity, and fundamental rights of Baloch students across the country. BSC Islamabad makes it unequivocally clear that we will continue to resist these oppressive policies at every available platform. When justice is denied, resistance becomes not a choice but the only option left for us. Silence in the face of such injustice is complicity and we refuse to remain silent.

These acts represent grave violations of human rights, including the right to life, liberty, and protection under the law. Enforced disappearance is a crime that not only silences individuals but collectively punishes families and nations through uncertainty, trauma, and prolonged suffering.
BSC Islamabad firmly states that it will not remain silent in the face of such injustices. We will continue to raise our voices, resist on all available platforms, and demand the safe recovery of Nabeel Arman and an end to the targeting of Baloch students. Until these practices end and those responsible are held answerable, the claim of rule of law remains hollow.
