The 13th Board of Studies meeting of the Department of Entomology, MNS University of Agriculture Multan, was held on 22 April 2026 under the chairmanship of Dr. Mirza Abdul Qayyum. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Shafqat Saeed, Dr. Faisal Hafeez (AARI), Mr. Muhammad Ashraf Ansari (Patron Group), Dr. Unsar Naeem-Ullah, Dr. Mudssar Ali, Dr. Naeem Iqbal, Dr. Muhammad Ishtiaq, Dr. Nadir Naqqash, Dr. Farrukh Baig, Ms. Hafiza Tahira Gul, and Dr. M. Asif Farooq.

During the meeting, members reviewed and approved the revised BS Entomology curriculum aligned with HEC National Quality Framework 2026, along with updates in departmental academic committees, while also acknowledging the department’s recent W-category accreditation achievement.

The Secretary Agriculture Punjab, Mr. Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, inaugurated the Early Cotton Cultivation Campaign at Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture, Multan. Speaking at the occasion, he stated that Punjab has set a target of cultivating cotton on 3.2 million acres during the current year.
He further highlighted that MNS University of Agriculture, Multan will represent and lead the early cotton cultivation campaign across Punjab, playing a vital role in transferring modern agricultural research and innovations to farmers.

According to the Secretary Agriculture, a target of 700,000 acres has been set for early cotton cultivation. Farmers will be provided with certified seeds of improved and newly developed cotton varieties. These varieties are being introduced to withstand changing climatic conditions and help restore cotton productivity in the province.

The event was attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asif Ali (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz) along with a large number of farmers, industry representatives, and stakeholders from the agriculture sector.
