Class XII has successfully completed the chapter “Truck Art.” The chapter has been included in the textbook to help students understand the origin, history, evolution, and cultural significance of Pakistani truck art, and how this unique form of art has developed over the decades.
The chapter also highlights how Pakistani truck art has gained international recognition. A beautifully decorated Bedford truck, painted by renowned Pakistani truck artist Haider Ali, with bodywork by Jamil Uddin, is part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian National Museum of America. Such elaborately decorated vehicles are aptly described as “masterpieces on wheels.
