Mr. Kashif Ali, PhD Scholar, Department of Pharmacy, AWKUM, has successfully defended his PhD thesis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Haroon Khan and Prof. Dr. Momin Khan (Chemistry). His research topic was “Synthesis, Computational Studies, Antidiabetic and Nephroprotective Evaluation of Electron-Donating Oxindole Derivatives.”
His thesis was evaluated by renowned experts Prof. Dr. Hussain Ali, Tianjin University, PR China, and Prof. Dr. Ilkay Erdogan Orhan, Lokman Hekim University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacognosy.
The examiners for the viva voce/defense were Assistant Prof. Dr. Sajid Hussain, Department of Pharmacy, Kohat University of Science and Technology, and Associate Prof. Dr. Shakir Ullah, Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Khyber Medical University, Peshawar.
The examiners appreciated the scientific rigor, originality, and practical relevance of the research and provided valuable feedback. The defense session was attended by faculty members, researchers, and postgraduate students of the university and the Department of Pharmacy.
The academic activity concluded with a vote of thanks by the Dean, Faculty of Chemical and Life Sciences, Prof. Dr. Salimullah Khan, and the Chairman, Department of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Omer Shehzad.
In their remarks, both the Dean and Chairman acknowledged the efforts of the PhD scholar and emphasized the importance of high-quality research in the field of Pharmacy.

His research topic was “Synthesis, characterisation, computational and antidiabetic evaluation of hydrazide derivatives ”
His thesis was evaluated by renowned experts Prof. Dr Masuad shah Ajao University South Korea, and Prof. Dr. Qian bai, Zhengzheu University, China.
The examiners for the Viva voce/ defence were Prof Dr Waqar Kaleem Department of Pharmacy, Swabi University, and Dr. Ashfaq khan, Associate Prof. Department of Pharmacy, riphah University Islamabad.
The examiners appreciated the scientific rigor, originality, and practical relevance of the research and provided valuable feedback. The defence session was attended by the faculty members, researchers, and post graduate students of the university and department of Pharmacy.

Dr. Muhammad Rehman, Assistant Registrar at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pharmacy Council and affiliated with the Department Of Pharmacy AWKUM, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, has successfully defended his PhD thesis. His research was conducted under the supervision of Professor Dr. Haroon Khan, with Associate Professor Dr. Muhammad Saeed Jan as co-supervisor.
The panel of external examiners included Professor Dr. Samreen from Qurtuba University Peshawar and Dr. Shakir Ullah, Associate Professor at Khyber Medical University.
His thesis was titled:
“Synthesis and Pharmacological Potential of Organotin Complexes with Sulphonyl Hydrazide Moiety.”
Dr. Rehman credited his achievement to the blessings of Almighty Allah, the unwavering support and guidance of his mentors, and the prayers of his parents, family, and colleagues.

Ms. Dareen Ihsan, an M.Phil. scholar, has successfully defended her M.Phil. thesis titled “Antinociceptive and Anti-inflammatory Potential of Ibuprofen Derivatives in Different Animal Models Supported by In-Silico Studies.”
