AWKUM Holds Third Session on Effective CV Writing & Interview Skills for Graduating Students

The University Advancement and Career Development Center (UA&CDC) at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) successfully conducted its third session on “Effective CV Crafting & Interview Skills” at IBL Hall. The session was organized for 8th-semester students from the Faculties of Physical & Numerical Sciences and Chemical & Life Sciences as part of the university-wide Soft Skills Development Program.
The initiative aims to equip graduating students with essential professional skills, particularly in resume development and interview preparation, to help them transition smoothly into the job market.
Dr. Muhammad Bilal, Director UA&CDC, welcomed the participants, including students, faculty members, and resource persons. In his address, he emphasized the importance of preparing for the shift from academic life to the professional world. He noted that while students may have excelled in their academic programs, they must now be ready to face the practical challenges of the industry.
Ms. Bisma Javed, a resource person from the Institute of Business and Leadership (IBL), delivered an insightful session on CV writing. She explained the types of CVs employers require, highlighted common mistakes students make, and provided practical guidance on creating a well-structured, impactful CV that effectively presents personal, academic, and professional strengths.
Dr. Silvia Ahmed from IBL led the session on interview skills. She discussed strategies for presenting oneself confidently and professionally in interviews, highlighted common errors candidates make, and shared techniques to improve performance. The session also included interactive mock interviews, giving students hands-on experience and valuable feedback

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Azam Khan (Dean, FBE) has been named among the Stanford–Elsevier Global Top 2% Researchers — the only social scientist from KP to achieve this distinction.

The 2nd AWKUM All Pakistan AGORA 2026 was successfully conducted from 20th to 22nd April 2026 at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, bringing together talent, passion, and creativity from across the country.

With participation from 73 institutions nationwide, the event featured 18 diverse categories, providing a dynamic platform for students to showcase their skills in both academic and co-curricular domains. An impressive 415 participants from all over Pakistan made this event a truly national celebration of youth talent and excellence.

The event concluded with a grand Closing Ceremony on 22nd April 2026, where winners were honored and achievements were celebrated. AGORA 2026 stands as a remarkable success, reflecting dedication, teamwork, and the vibrant spirit of students nationwide.

عبدالولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان کے شعبہ زوالوجی کے لیکچرر نے خیبرپختونخوا میں مچھروں سے پھیلنے والی بیماریوں سے نمٹنے کے لیے اہم تحقیقی پروجیکٹ حاصل کر لیا

عبدالولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان میں زولوجی کے لیکچرر، ڈاکٹر جہانگیر خان، کو ادارہ برائے سائنس و ٹیکنالوجی (DoST) کی جانب سے ایک اہم تحقیقی پروجیکٹ کے لیے 1 کروڑ روپے کی ابتدائی مالی امداد سے نوازا گیا ہے۔ یہ منصوبہ ابتدا میں خیبرپختونخوا میں مچھروں کے کنٹرول کے اقدامات کو مضبوط بنانے پر مرکوز ہوگا اور ڈینگی، زیکا اور چکنگونیا جیسی بیماریوں کے خلاف اقدامات کرے گا۔ کامیاب نفاذ کے بعد اس پروجیکٹ کو ملک گیر سطح تک وسعت دینے کا ارادہ ہے۔

یہ تحقیقی منصوبہ چین سے جدید ٹیکنالوجی کی منتقلی پر مبنی ہے اور سن یات سین یونیورسٹی (SYSU) کے پروفیسر ڈونگ جِنگ ژانگ، جو مچھروں کی سٹرائل انسیکٹ ٹیکنیک (SIT) میں معروف سائنسدان ہیں، کے تعاون سے انجام دیا جا رہا ہے۔ اس جدید طریقہ کار کے ذریعے کیمیائی کیڑوں کش ادویات پر انحصار کم ہوگا، جو مقامی مچھر کی آبادی میں مزاحمت پیدا کر چکی ہیں اور بیماریوں کے پھیلاؤ میں اضافے کا سبب بنی ہیں۔

اس تعاون کے ذریعے پروجیکٹ SIT پر مبنی مچھروں کے کنٹرول کے جدید طریقے متعارف کرائے گا، علمی تبادلے کو فروغ دے گا اور ویکٹر مینجمنٹ میں مقامی صلاحیت کو بڑھائے گا۔

ڈاکٹر خان نے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ یہ منصوبہ عوامی صحت کے تحفظ، بیماریوں کے بوجھ میں کمی، اور پاکستان کی جدید مچھروں کے کنٹرول کی ٹیکنالوجی میں مہارت کو مضبوط بنانے کی جانب ایک اہم قدم ہے۔
