A Roundtable Conference of Vice Chancellors of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Universities was held on Monday, April 27th, 2026, with Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhtar, Chairman Higher Education Commission, Meena Khan Afridi, Provincial Minister for Higher Education KP, and Dr. Muhammad Israr, Secretary HED, KP.

The conference brought together Vice Chancellors from across the province to deliberate on key matters concerning higher education, including academic excellence, research promotion, quality assurance, and institutional development.

Participants shared valuable insights and emphasized the importance of collaboration, innovation, and policy reforms to uplift the standards of higher education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During the session, the Chairman HEC highlighted ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening universities, fostering research culture, and enhancing international linkages.

Later, a prize distribution ceremony was held to honor the top 2% Scientists and winners of projects under the National Research Program for Universities.

The distinguished guests appreciated the efforts of researchers and scholars for their outstanding contributions to academia and innovation.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was successfully held between the Department of Public Policy and Administration, Hazara University Mansehra, and office of the Right to Public Service commission, to promote mutual cooperation in research, internships, seminars, conferences, and academic engagements.
RTPSC will provide two months internship to 12 students of department per year.
The MoU was signed on behalf of RTPSC by Mr. Umair Dil Khan, while Dr. Muhammad Wasim, Chairperson of the Department of Public Policy and Administration, signed on behalf of the university.
This collaboration marks an important step towards strengthening academia–industry linkages and creating meaningful opportunities for students and researchers.

ہزارہ یونیورسٹی مانسہرہ باٹنی ڈیپارٹمنٹ کے سکالر محمد نوید نے پی ایچ ڈی مکمل کر لی۔ انہوں نے گذشتہ روز Spatial Distribution Pattern of Invasive Flora in district Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistanکے عنوان پر اپنے تحقیقی مقالے کا کامیاب دفاع کیا۔محمد نوید نے اپنا تحقیقی مقالہ باٹنی ڈیپارٹمنٹ کے سابق چیئر مین پروفیسر ڈاکٹر منظور حسین کی زیر نگرانی مکمل کیا جبکہ معاون سپروائز کے فرائض ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف انوائرومنٹل سائنسز انٹرنیشنل اسلامک یونیورسٹی اسلام آباد کے پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ظفیر ثاقب نے سر انجام دیئے۔ سکالر محمد نوید نے پبلک ڈیفنس میں شرکاء کے مختلف سوالوں کے جواب دیئے اور تھیسز کی تکمیل کے دوران حاصل ہونے والے تجربات پر تبادلہ خیال کیا۔ اس موقع پر باٹنی ڈیپارٹمنٹ کے پروفیسرز، ایگزامنرز اور دیگر سکالرز بھی موجود تھے۔واضح رہے کہ محمد نوید کے ریسرچ تھیسز میں ضلع ہری پور میں پائے جانے والی غیر مقامی پودوں کی اقسام کے پھیلاؤ اور ان کی نوعیت کو واضح کرتے ہوئے مؤثر انتظامی اور حفاظتی اقدامات کو تجویز کیا گیا ہے تاکہ پودوں کے پھیلاؤ کے پھیلاؤ پر قابون پاتے ہوئے مقامی ایکو سسٹم کو محفوظ بنایا جا سکے۔

The MoU was signed on behalf of Saibaan Development Organization by Dr. Sahibzada Jawad Alfaizi, while Dr. Muhammad Wasim, Chairperson of the Department of Public Policy and Administration, signed on behalf of the university.
The ceremony was attended by esteemed faculty members including Dr. Imran Khattak, Dr. Akhtar Nawaz, Mr. Muhammad Junaid, along with undergraduate and graduate students of the department. The event took place in the conference room of the department.
This collaboration marks an important step towards strengthening academia–industry linkages and creating meaningful opportunities for students and researchers alike.

Securing 1st position across Pakistan among participants from 68 universities in the prestigious 2nd Awkum All Pakistan Bilingual Declamation, Andaz-e-Bayan, and Bait Baazi Competition is truly a remarkable accomplishment.

This exceptional achievement reflects his dedication, confidence, and excellence in communication and literary expression.

Atta ur Rehman has made his department and university immensely proud and set a high standard for others to follow.

The activities and meetings of Dr. Sumedha Weerawardhana, University of Paradeniya, Sri Lanka, visit second day, under the HEC Faculty Exchange programme. Visit to the Museum of Archaeology; Meeting with Deans and Director Academics; meeting with Head of Departments of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, at the office of the Dean, Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
Dr. Sumedha appreciated the efforts of the team of Archaeology Department for the establishment of the state of the art museum for Archaeology on the campus.
In meeting with Deans share the ideas, discussed venue of collaboration followed by exchange of gifts.

I am glade to share that Dr. Weerwardhanalage Sumedha Manjula, University of Paradeniya, Sri Lanka on his visit to Hazara University Mansehra Pakistan under the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, Islamabad, Pak-Sri Lanka Faculty Exchange Programme.
Today he call upon the Vice Chancellor and Registrar, Hazara University. The Vice Chancellor (Prof. (Dr.) Ikramullah Khan) warmly welcome him, he shared his experiences of working with Sri Lankan Scholar. He appreciate the HEC initiative of faculty.
The guest deliver a comprehensive lecture to the faculty and research scholar of the Department of Archaeology and visited different sections of the Department, labs, library and class rooms, interact with the faculty and scholar's.

The Chairman of the Pakistan Science Foundation, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akmal, visited Hazara University, Mansehra, as part of the
research monitoring and collaboration in Pakistan’s academic sector.

He was warmly received by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ikramullah Khan, along with the Dean of the Faculty of Biological and Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Inam Ullah, the Director ORIC, Dr. Masroor Ahmad Bangash, Manager Research and Development ORIC, Mr. Amjad Khan, Dr. Zubair Alam Khan, Manager UIL and Dr. Nisar Ahmad who is leading the PSF-NSLP funded project.

During the meeting, the Chairman was briefed on the ongoing research initiatives and academic progress. He acknowledged the university’s efforts to strengthen research output and assured continued support, particularly for projects focused on product development and practical applications.

Later, his visit to the Department of BGE laboratories further underscored this commitment. He appreciated the quality of research being conducted at the department and expressed strong interest in sustaining and expanding institutional support for future scientific work.

This visit reflects a positive alignment between national funding bodies and Hazara University research efforts, which is essential for advancing innovation and scientific development in the region.
