🌍 A Small Story About a Big Problem…
For a long time, scientists believed they had everything under control. Using classical calculus, they could describe motion, heat, waves—almost everything.
But then… reality started misbehaving.
A material would remember its past.
A signal would change based on its history, not just the present.
Particles refused to follow normal diffusion—they moved in strange, unexpected ways.
Engineers got confused.
Physicists got stuck.
Even mathematicians had to admit… something was missing.
💡 Then came a different idea.
“What if change is not always whole? What if it can be… fractional?”
And that’s where fractional derivatives entered the story.
Instead of only 1st, 2nd, or 3rd derivatives, we could now use 0.5, 1.3, or even -0.7 order derivatives.
Suddenly…
✔ Systems with memory started making sense
✔ Complex materials behaved exactly as predicted
✔ Strange diffusion patterns became understandable
🌍 And the real magic? It works in real life.
• In medicine, it helps model how drugs spread in the body
• In engineering, it explains how materials stretch and relax
• In finance, it improves prediction of market behavior
• In physics, it captures complex natural phenomena
✨ Today, we realize something powerful:
Not everything in life changes in whole steps.
Sometimes, the truth lies in between.
And that’s why the future of science is not just calculus…
it’s fractional calculus.

Applications are open to both local and international students with a strong academic background. The program is highly competitive and typically admits students within the top 5%, although we recognize that grades do not always fully reflect mathematical talent or potential. Candidates interested in pursuing a European-standard MSc in Fundamental Mathematics, taught by a team of two international and one local professor, are encouraged to apply.
