*Curiosity into Research*
During her internship with the Wildlife Department, our student Hareem Attique from the Department of Zoology, under the supervision of Dr. Nehafta Sabir, developed a documentary on the behaviour of the Kashmir Rock Agama.
Inspired by a local belief that the lizard mimics human prayer movements, she set out to observe and document its behaviour rather than relying on assumptions.
Her observations revealed that the characteristic up-and-down movements are actually associated with territorial behaviour, demonstrating how scientific observation can help us understand the natural world beyond local interpretations.
A wonderful example of turning curiosity into observation, and observation into scientific understanding.
