Your Responsibilities
Research in the field of biomass fractionation and lignin utilization
Research in the field of sustainability and ‚Green Chemistry‘, with focus on lignocellulose
Lignin Chemistry and the development of lignin-based products
Structural and composition analysis of lignocellulose, lignin and its depolymerization products with diverse analytical methods (GC-MS, GC-FID, HPLC-SEC, UV/VIS, IR), including NMR- methods (2D HSQC NMR, 1H NMR, 31P NMR)
Writing a dissertation
Independent teaching of courses and participation in teaching and examination tasks
Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures
Writing publications and presenting at scientific conferences
Scientific cooperation with research groups within the ‘Institute for Chemistry’ and internationally
Your Profile
Completed master’s degree in the area chemistry or related areas
Deep knowledge of the fields of biomass, biomass fractionation, lignocellulose and lignin
Knowledge of the research area ‘Green Chemistry’
Good written and spoken English skills
Independent working and planning and excellent skills to communicate scientific results
Aptitude to pursue a scientific career
Ability to work in a team
