The Necessity of Taqwa and Avoiding Riba

▫️▫️▫️🔹▫️▫️▫️🔹▫️▫️▫️🔹▫️▫️🔹▫️▫️▫️

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful [1:1]

Allah commands His believing servants to fear Him and warns them against what would bring them closer to His anger and drive them away from His pleasure. Allah said,

(O you who believe! Have Taqwa of Allah) meaning, fear Him and remember that He is watching all that you do.

(And give up what remains of Riba) meaning, abandon the Riba that people still owe you upon hearing this warning,

(if you indeed have been believers) believing in the trade that He allowed you and the prohibition of Riba.

(O you who believe! Be afraid of Allah and give up what remains (due to you) from Riba (from now onward), if you are (really) believers. And if you do not do it, then take a notice of war from Allah and His Messenger.)

They said, ''We repent to Allah and abandon whatever is left of our Riba'', and they all abandoned it This Ayah serves as a stern threat to those who continue to deal in Riba after Allah revealed this warning.

'A 'oothu billaahi minash-Shaytaanir-rajeem. Allaahu laa 'ilaaha 'illaa Huwal-Hayyul-Qayyoom, laa ta'khuthuhu sinatun wa laa nawm, lahu maa fis-samaawaati wa maa fil-'ardh, man thai-lathee yashfa'u 'indahu 'illaa bi'ithnih, ya'lamu maa bayna 'aydeehim wa maa khalfahum, wa laa yuheetoona bishay'im-min 'ilmihi 'illaa bimaa shaa'a, wasi'a kursiyyuhus samaawaati wal'ardh, wa laa ya'ooduhu hifdhuhumaa, wa Huwal- 'Aliyyul- 'Adheem.

I seek refuge in Allah from Satan the outcast. - Allah! There is none worthy of worship but He, the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. And they will never encompass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.(Whoever says this when he rises in the morning will be protected from jinns until he retires in the evening, and whoever says it when retiring in the evening will be protected from them until he rises in the morning.)
Al-Hakim 1 / 562, Sahih at-Targhib wa at-Tarhib 1/273, at-Tabarani.

Dhikr 2
Recite Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas.(Whoever recites these Three times in the morning and in the evening, they will suffice him (as a protection) against everything.)

We have entered the morning and with it all dominion is Allah's. Praise is to Allah. None has the right to be worshiped but Allah alone, Who has no partner. To Allah belongs the dominion, and to Him is the praise and He is Able to do all things. My Lord, I ask You for the goodness of this day and of the days that come after it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this day and of the days that come after it. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and helpless old age. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hell-fire, and from the punishment of the grave.

O Allah, You are my Lord, there is none worthy of worship but You. You created me and I am your slave. I keep Your covenant, and my pledge to You so far as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I admit to Your blessings upon me, and I admit to my misdeeds. Forgive me, for there is none who may forgive sins but You.(Whoever recites this with conviction in the evening and dies during that night shall enter Paradise, and whoever recites it with conviction in the morning and dies during that day shall enter Paradise.)

💠 How to seek Allaah’s help:

Wake up call for Ummah 🗣️:

People gather in a stadium to watch a football match, and they raise the Palestinian flag, thinking that this will aid the cause. But it does not! Victory doesn’t come with entertainment and emotions only!

Allaah’s help comes to the Believers through Salaah (Prayers) and Sabr (Patience) and not just by marching on the streets, or blocking the paths, or filling the stadiums while the Masaajid are empty?.

If showing strength in numbers had worked, it would have definitely helped the Believers in the battle of Hunain, but the strength in numbers did not help them, as Allaah تعالى says:

{Truly Allaah has given you victory on many battlefields, and on the Day of Hunain (battle) when you rejoiced at your great number but it availed you naught and the earth, vast as it is, was straitened for you, then you turned back fleeing. Then Allaah did send down His Sakeenah (calmness, tranquility, and reassurance, etc.) on the Messenger (Muhammad ﷺ), and on the believers, and sent down forces (angels) which you saw not, and punished the disbelievers. Such is the recompense of disbelievers.}
📚[Surah al-Tawbah (9):25-26]

Allaah’s help is not associated with your strength or numbers; Allaah’s help is associated with your Imaan:

{and incumbent upon Us was the support of the Believers}
📚[Surah al-Room (30): 47]

And He تعالى also said:

{So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are indeed [true] believers}
📚[Surah aal-`Imraan (3): 139]

🌴🌴🌴

Allaah تعالى promised that He will help those who will His cause:

{Verily, Allaah will help those who help His (Cause). Truly, Allaah is All-Strong, All-Mighty.}
📚[Surah al-Hajj (22): 40]

But who are these people whom Allaah will help? What are their characteristics? Allaah تعالى describes them, saying:

{[And they are] those who, if We give them authority in the land, establish prayer and give Zakaah and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. And to Allaah belongs the outcome of [all] matters.}
📚[Surah al-Hajj (22): 41]

He تعالى also instructs us, saying:
{O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allaah is with the patient.}
📚[Surah al-Baqarah (2): 153]

So, do not let Shaitaan deceive us by mixing our emotions with entertainment. Our victory only comes with our obedience to Allaah, offering the Salaah sincerely, and fulfilling the rights of the people.

*When Allah the Almighty struck Quraysh on the day of Badr, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gathered Jews in the market of Banu Qaynuqa.*

*He ﷺ said: "O Jews, embrace Islam before Allah afflicts you with what He afflicted Quraysh."*

*The Jews said: "O Muhammad, do not be deceived by yourself that you killed a group of Quraysh. They were ignorant people who did not know how to fight. By Allah, if you had fought us, you would have known that we are the Warriors that you haven't met before."*

*So Allah Almighty revealed about them:*

{ قُل لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ سَتُغۡلَبُونَ وَتُحۡشَرُونَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمِهَادُ }

*Say to those who disbelieve, "You will be overcome and gathered together to Hell, and wretched is the resting place."*

*[Surah Āli-ʿImrān: 12]*

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said:

"A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim, so he should not oppress him, nor should he hand him over to an oppressor.

Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs.

Whoever brought his (Muslim) brother out of a discomfort, Allah will bring him out of the discomforts of the Day of Resurrection.

And whoever screened a Muslim, Allah will screen him on the Day of Resurrection."

*DUNYA AND ITS DISTRACTIONS*
➖➖➖
*Attaining True Happiness*
➖➖➖

Allah ﷻ says in the Qur'an:

*Whoever does righteous actions whether male or female, while they are a believer, then indeed we shall grant them a good life.*
[16:97]
_
We shouldn't attempt to fill our hearts with things that don't fulfil it. Rather follow these two steps.

1. Believe in Allah ﷻ with certainty and sincerity

2. Do righteous actions with sincerity and hope
_
Many men & women, flirting with others often feel lonely and long for companionship, and you find that their happiness is shattered when the object of their lust rejects them!
_
Many women remove the Hijab in order to feel happy by appearing beautiful, and find that their happiness dissolves because the people do not share the same sentiment.
_
The same with music! People use it as an emotional escape from the world and this happiness is shattered as soon as they return from that escape!
_
All of these become the punishment of a person and a source of torment! Why?

Because the soul craves a connection to its creator!
Allah ﷻ!
_
Connect your heart to Allah. To His Book and His Prophet ﷺ!
Happiness will follow!
_
Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه reported: The Prophet ﷺ said:
*_“Wealth is not in having many possessions. Rather, true wealth is the richness of the soul.”_*

[Sahih al-Bukha‌ri‌ 6081, Sahih Muslim 1051]
_
Shaytaan & Dunya brings restlessness and the want for more. Allah ﷻ and the Akhirah brings peace and contentment!

As Allah ﷻ says:

*those who believe and whose hearts find comfort in the remembrance of Allah. Surely in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find comfort.*
[13:28]
_
Ya Ibn Adam! If you want to feel peace at heart, divorce the Dunya and strive for the Akhirah!
_
Reflect and Ponder..

*KHAIR (GOODNESS) IN BOTH WORLDS*

*Dunya & Akhira*
➖➖➖

Allah ﷻ talks about the people of Jannah,

*No fatigue shall touch them*

*Nor shall they ever be asked to leave.*
[15:48]

Allah ﷻ also says

*We have certainly created mankind in hardship.*
[90:4]

Allah ﷻ has shown us the difference between the Dunya and the Akhirah.

Dunya afflicts man with many problems, and as a compensation...Jannah

Prophet ﷺ said: *_"It will be said, O dwellers of Paradise! You will be healthy and never fall sick; you will live and never die; you will be young and never grow old; you will stay here and never leave."_*
[Sahih Muslim]
_
We live on average for 60-80 years. The majority of the time we spend in it ilearn work. Many of the people they labour for only the Dunya, and by the time they earn it, they cannot enjoy it fully. Such is their loss, that they purchased the Dunya at the expense of the Akhirah!

What will they have in the Akhirah? Nothing!

As Allah ﷻ says

*But of mankind, they're those who say: "Our Lord! Give us in this world!'' and for such there will be no portion in the Hereafter.*
[2:200]

*Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه said* this was revealed about the bedouins who would come to Arafah and pray for Rain, fertility, children, they would not mention the hereafter at all!
_
But those who work for the Akhirah,

*And among them are those who say "Our Lord grant us in this Dunya goodness, and in the Hereafter goodness and save us from the Hellfire"*

*For those will be a share for what they have earned.*
[2:201-202]
_
Their reward is with Allah ﷻ!

May Allah ﷻ grant us goodness both in this world and the hereafter.

THE UNPREVENTABLE DEATH
➖➖➖
What have you prepared for it?
➖➖➖

Allah ﷻ says

Every Soul shall taste Death.
[3:185]

We shall all taste Death, none of us can escape the certain departure from this world. No matter how much we run or we delude ourselves by planning for tomorrow. We must remember that Death will come to us.

Mu’adh ibn Jabal رضي الله عنه reported: I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Among which deeds are most beloved to Allah?"

The Prophet said, “That you die while your tongue is moist with the remembrance of Allah.”
[Sahih Ibn H‌ibba‌n 818, Grade: Hasan (fair)]

How many people have departed while they were far away from the remembarence of Allah ﷻ ?!

So when we remind ourselves of Death, It is important to then reflect on what we have prepared to take with us. What we have packed away in our baggage to journey into the Akhirah?

The wealth of the Dunya will not suffice nor will anything you enjoyed from it suffice, rather only Good Deeds will suffice.

As Allah ﷻ mentions about the person of the left hand who will say

My wealth has not availed me!

My Authority has left me!
[69:28-29]

So we must strive to accumulate only that which will be of benefit!

As Allah ﷻ says

So take provision; indeed the best provision is Taqwa
[2:197]

As we move through the world, the best provision for us is Taqwa, because Taqwa is what Inclines us towards Good and Bad. And if we die upon this, then we'll have died with Taqwa in our hearts and this along with our deeds will suffice us in Akhirah!

And no doubt that everyone is a sinner, nobody is perfect!
We need to engage in Istighfaar as much as possible! Not only will it lighten our load of Bad deeds, it will add to our good deeds!

As Allah ﷻ says:

Except He who repents, believes and does righteous action, then they are those whom Allah will change their sins into good deeds.
[25:70]

All so we can earn Jannah! The eternal bliss, where there is no sadness!

May Allah ﷻ ease our affairs and forgive our shortcomings..
