Respected District Education Officer (Secondary), Mr. Akif Nadeem, paid an official visit to observe and inspect the meeting of STEAM Focal Persons of the Secondary Wing, District Mandi Bahauddin. The meeting was held at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Sohawa Bolani / PECTAA Field Office Mandi Bahauddin.

The purpose of the meeting was to review ongoing STEAM initiatives and strengthen the implementation of STEM-based learning across public secondary schools.

During the session, Mr. Akif Nadeem appreciated the efforts of the STEAM focal persons and emphasized the crucial role of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities in developing students’ critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and innovation.

The District Education Officer highlighted the following key points:

1. Regular STEM Activities in Schools:
All STEAM focal persons must ensure the regular ex*****on of meaningful, hands-on, and curriculum-based STEM activities in their respective institutions.

2. Timely Uploading of Activities on the STEAM Website:
He instructed focal persons to upload evidence of STEM activities promptly on the official STEAM portal. Timely uploading will contribute to improving District Mandi Bahauddin’s ranking, showcasing the hard work of teachers and students at the provincial level.

3. Promotion of Activity-Based Learning:
Mr. Akif Nadeem stressed that science teachers should adopt activity-based learning (ABL) methodologies. He noted that students learn more effectively through experiments, models, demonstrations, and practical engagement.

4. Use of Modern Tools and Resources:
He strongly encouraged teachers to utilize modern teaching tools, digital resources, and STEM kits provided under the STEAM initiative to enhance the overall teaching–learning process.

5. Improving Quality of Education in Public Schools:
The DEO emphasized that strengthening STEAM education is essential for raising the quality of education in government schools. He assured full administrative support in facilitating STEM-based instructional practices.

The visit of the District Education Officer (Secondary) proved highly motivating and productive. His guidance provided clear direction for future goals and expectations. The meeting concluded with a firm commitment from all focal persons to work with dedication for the promotion of STEM education and for uplifting the educational performance of District Mandi Bahauddin.

A Comprehensive Professional Development (CPD) training session was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Zia Ullah Abbasi, Chief Executive Officer, District Education Authority Mandi Bahauddin.

The worthy CEO delivered an insightful and interactive session covering multiple key educational domains including:
✅ Theme of Education – Understanding the true purpose and direction of education in modern times.
✅ Philosophy of Education – Exploring the foundational ideas and principles that shape effective teaching and learning.
✅ National Professional Standards – Emphasizing the importance of professional ethics, teacher competencies, and continuous improvement.
✅ Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) – Encouraging teachers to foster creativity, analysis, and critical thinking in students.
✅ Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS) – Revisiting the foundational skills of remembering, understanding, and applying concepts effectively.

All participating teachers took active part in the discussion and activities. The session was highly appreciated as it enhanced teachers’ professional knowledge, reflective practices, and understanding of modern pedagogical approaches.

The leadership and motivational address of Mr. Zia Ullah Abbasi inspired the educators to implement these ideas in their classrooms to ensure quality education and holistic student development across the district.

Four-Day Training on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) Successfully Concluded

The four-day training of Assistant Education Officers (AEOs) on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) concluded successfully at the PECTAA Field Office / GHSS Sohawa Bolani, Mandi Bahauddin.

During the session, Mr. Zia Ullah Abbasi, Chief Executive Officer, District Education Authority Mandi Bahauddin, personally conducted two highly interactive sessions on critical thinking, educational leadership, and management skills. His valuable guidance greatly enhanced the participants’ knowledge and motivation.

Master trainers conducted the training with full dedication and enthusiasm. On the final day, certificates of participation were distributed among the trainees and trainers by PECTAA Mandi Bahauddin.

Notification of school timing for winter session in all public and private schools in Mandi Bahauddin w.e.f 16-04-2025.

The four-day Item Writing and Review Workshop for Grades 3 and 6 was successfully concluded at GHSS Sohawa Bolani / PECTAA Field Office, Mandi Bahauddin.

During the workshop, item writers (teachers) from eight subjects developed quality items for the upcoming School-Based Assessment (SBA) for Grades 3 and 6.

The workshop was organized under the supervision and guidance of the Punjab Education Curriculum & Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA), in collaboration with the District Education Department and the Field Office Mandi Bahauddin.

It was a highly productive and successful event, where participants worked under the lead master trainers to design high-quality, curriculum-aligned assessment items that will contribute to improving the overall quality of education and assessment standards in Punjab.
