Meet Dr Shaheed Afzal , from batch 2016 currently doing residency in cardiology PIC Lahore.
Shaheed and his team has managed to go to flood affected areas of Punjab and noe a days they are arranging medical camps in boluchistan.So far they have visited Ghari kheru ,Usta Muhammad ( one of the highly affected area) , Tehsil Gandakha (where only helicopters were delivering ration ) , Baghtel another highly unapproachable area and Choki jamali.Choki jamali was cut off for more than eight days so they managed to go by making boats of drums and charpai.
While i was talking to shaheed i got to know the ground situtaion of flood victims. All you can see is depression , hunger and multiple diseases.People are dying due to severe dehydration .More than 500 + patients are being checked every day.Every second patient has critical signs of malaria and you can see anemic pregnant ladies and malnourished children everywhere. The whole situation canot described in words.The actual images are shocking as compared to those what media are showing. So if u are having proper meal three times a days consider yourself extremely lucky. Luxuries that we have today are far away from there .
If anyone wants to send ration then please add formula milk , water , cereals,dry fruits and biscuits in ration.
In the end we are very proud of shaheed and his team. May these brave heart continue to be a source of help in this miserable situtaion.
