stem5

stem5 stem5 is a non-profit initiative working to rejuvenate Pakistan's public primary schools by delivering STEM lessons that encourage scientific thinking.

stem5 is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education initiative that engages science & engineering undergraduate students and young professionals to teach, motivate and inspire underprivileged kids in STEM via lessons and experiments. We are currently focusing our efforts on government primary schools in Pakistan. Our instruction philosophy is based on the following three core principles:

(1) Focus on the how and why rather than the what;
(2) Encouraging students to question and explain scientific observations; and
(3) Emphasis on discussing problems in an interactive manner instead of feeding answers to students

Education isn't just about reading textbooks and passing exams. What matters the most is the ability to think out of the box. Critical thought and creativity are the true essence of learning and need to be emphasized more so than just acing exams.

"It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it."
