We are super excited to announce that Desi Writers' Lounge will be hosting NaNoWriMo this year also!

NaNoWriMo or National Novel Writing Month is a global event which takes place in November and basically involves writing 50,000 words in one month. Yes, you read that right. 50k in 30 days.

If it sounds terribly difficult, let us assure you it's not. It's extremely, terribly, completely, mind-bogglingly difficult! It pushes you to the extreme and tests your limit in ways nothing else can! It also makes you realise that the secret behind writing is simply to put down one word after the other. Till you reach your goal. Which in this case is 50,000 words, only.

Our weekly write-in sessions in Karachi and Islamabad were a big success. The Municipal Liaison for NaNoWriMo for the Pakistan region, Slay Belle, was at all sessions to give advice and make participants focus on writing. Not only did our participants do a good amount of writing during these sessions, they also got a chance to meet other writers and share ideas. And word counts!

We will be hosting the weekly write-in sessions in November at T2F every Saturday from 4-6pm. We will also be hosting a mini-workshop on the 21st of October at the same venue. The kick-off party will be on the 29th of October.
