📐 COMSAT National Mathematics Olympiad Launched at CUI Lahore Campus

COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Lahore Campus, proudly hosted the launching ceremony of the COMSATS National Mathematics Olympiad (CNMO), a national initiative aimed at identifying and nurturing mathematical talent among students across Pakistan.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood, Vice Chancellor, Allama Iqbal Open University, as Chief Guest; Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, Director, CUI Lahore Campus; Prof. Dr. Shariyeh Hosseini, In-Charge Academics; faculty members, academicians, and other distinguished guests.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Sarfraz Ahmad, Professor, Department of Mathematics, highlighted the importance of developing mathematical thinking, curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills among students. Prof. Dr. Kashif Ali, Head, Department of Mathematics, presented the academic objectives and framework of CNMO. Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood emphasized the talent of Pakistan’s youth and the importance of providing them with opportunities and platforms to develop their mathematical abilities. Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas highlighted CUI Lahore Campus’s commitment to contributing to the national education sector and creating greater opportunities for young talent.

The initiative has been launched under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, Rector, CUI, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, Director, CUI Lahore Campus. CNMO aims to promote mathematical excellence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while supporting the development of future STEM talent in Pakistan.

The event was organised by the Department of Mathematics, CUI Lahore Campus, with Prof. Dr. Kashif Ali, Prof. Dr. Sarfraz Ahmad, Dr. Hani Shaker, and other faculty members contributing to its organisation.

Media coverage of the ceremony was carried out by the Department of Media and Communication Studies under the supervision of its Head, Dr. Sohail Riaz, with Shehryar Abbasi and a team of students covering the event. The ceremony concluded with a ceremonial cake-cutting. 🎓✨

CUI Lahore Graduate Selected Among Top 100 World Delegates at AWLF 2026

COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus is proud to highlight the achievement of Haseeb Sabir, a graduate of the Pharm-D program (Batch 2021–2026).

Haseeb Sabir has been selected among the Top 100 World Delegates at AWLF 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand, representing Pakistan as a fully sponsored Pakistan Delegate 🇵🇰🌏.

His project focusing on Youth Impact and Sustainable Development reflects the commitment of our students and graduates to addressing global challenges and contributing to meaningful social development.

The university congratulates Haseeb Sabir on this remarkable achievement and wishes him continued success as he represents Pakistan and the COMSATS community on an international platform.

An evening of meaningful connections, collaboration and celebration at CUI Lahore, hosted by Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, Campus Director, CUI Lahore.

The Networking Dinner brought together distinguished leaders from academia, industry, media and public administration, creating a space for dialogue, interaction and strengthening institutional connections.

The evening was honored by the presence of Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar (TI), Rector, COMSATS University Islamabad, as Chief Guest, whose words reflected the spirit of the gathering.

The evening concluded with a soulful Qawwali performance, bringing together conversation, culture and celebration.
