The Journey from ILM to UMT
The University of Management and Technology (UMT) has its roots in the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), which was established in Lahore in 1990. Spurred on by the great success of ILM, the institution applied for a University Charter, which was granted to it in 2004. UMT is a project of the ILM Trust. It is an independent, non-for-profit privat
e organization. Its degrees are fully recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. In September 2007, HEC awarded "W" Category to UMT. UMT now ranks among the few select universities in the country in this category.
