JPS’s magnificent building, extensive playing facilities and superb location provide pupils with a physical environment which is conducive both to the clarity of mind required for study and to the full and balanced development of young people. During the time a pupil is with us, we try to ensure that, in addition to the knowledge and skills acquired through academic study, he or she develops:
a love of learning and the will to succeed
a sense of responsibility, self-discipline, purpose and fulfilment
a capacity for both self-reliance and co-operation
an appreciation of certain personal virtues and spiritual values, such as honesty, dependability, perseverance, commitment, humility and respect for others. When the time comes for our pupils to leave the School, we hope to have helped them not only to be properly prepared for the next stage in their lives, but also to become balanced and considerate young men and women who have the confidence to meet the world and the challenges it places before them, as its equal. If you have enjoyed looking through this prospectus, please contact us so that we might have the opportunity to arrange a personal tour of the School in order to give you a little window into what life here is really like. A prospectus can only show so much. Please come and visit us so that we
can meet you personally and let you see what we can do for your children. I am confident you will receive a warm and friendly welcome! HISTORY:

ADMISSIONS
A Pupil can be considered for entry to JPS at any age. Children who have reached the age of 3 by the September of the year of entry may be accepted into JPS’s Kindergarten. Entry into other year groups, when places are available, is subject to satisfactory assessment. All pupils entering JPS sit a written test. The main points of entry into the Senior Classes are at 11, 13 or 15 years, but pupils are accepted at any age, provided there are places and the entry requirements are met. A pupil then has the opportunity of a continuous education through to the BISE Matriculation Exams at 16 years. Admission is subject to interview and/or a satisfactory report from the child's previous school. A written test may also be required. There is an Entrance Assessment for every pupil. This is held in March/April of each academic year and then again in August/September subject to availability of seats. In the case of pupils seeking entry at other times, applications are dealt with individually and on merit. Special consideration is given to pupils with a brother or sister already at the School. Admission is dependent upon a good report from the previous school, an interview, and satisfactory academic results from the previous school. SCHOLARSHIPS
Entrance scholarships may be available for candidates who demonstrate excellence in academic work, sport, music, drama or any other recognised field. Accounts office shall be available to help with the academic scholarship or discounted fees (as the case may be). Details of these awards are available from the Admissions Officer. DISCIPLINE
The School tries to instil a sense of self-discipline and pride in achievement. Partly in the interests of safety and security, there are a few basic School Rules. By accepting a place for their son or daughter, parents undertake that the pupil will be subject to these. The Principal has the right to require parents to remove a pupil from the School if the pupil's conduct or general attitude makes this desirable in the best interests of either the School or the pupil. UNIFORM
Uniform requirements are indicated on the School Clothing Lists. The listed shops stocks and sells uniform items. Adherence to the uniform regulations and compliance with the requirement that pupils look smart, decent and serve generally in their appearance (which includes hair-style) as good ambassadors for the School is considered very important. SCHOOL FEES
The School operates on a very reasonable and affordable fee structure. A detail of the fees for each class can be obtained from any of the campuses. Fees are collected on a monthly basis and the due date for the payment of the tuition fees is the 10th of the following month. For Example, tuition fee for the month of January is to be paid by the 10th of January. LEAVING SCHOOL
A month's notice is required, in writing, before a pupil is withdrawn from the School and should be received by the Principal. In default of such notice the fees will be charged and school-leaving certificate will not be issued.
