Our enthusiastic learners from PYP Grade 4 visited CETC for an inspiring, hands-on learning experience

Students were introduced to an engaging Astronomy course aligned with their Central Idea:
“Innovative design solves human problems and drives sustainable progress.”

Through interactive discussions, students explored how innovation and scientific thinking help humans understand and solve real-world challenges

The excitement continued with a fun-filled Scratch coding session and a hands-on robot assembly activity, encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration

A delegation from Read Foundation, comprising of various Heads and Principals, visited Crescent Emerging Technologies Centre (CETC) and received a comprehensive overview of the institution’s five zones and the range of courses offered. The team, led by Sir Ali Shafiq, was accompanied by Rayyan Azeem and Fatima Mumtaz provided a detailed presentation on the upcoming flagship event, TechBlitz: The Fusion, scheduled to take place at Crescent on the 23rd, 24th, 25th of January, 2026.

Empowering Young Minds with IB and Technology at CETC!

Stargazing Session from 𝐂𝐄𝐓𝐂 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐨𝐩 🔭

We set up the Celestron 127SLT at the Crescent Emerging Technologies Centre to catch a beautiful lineup in the Lahore sky. The atmosphere was surprisingly steady, giving us some crisp views of our solar system's giants.

🌕 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞 : We spent most of the session exploring the Moon's 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐞 the edge where day meets night. The rugged, popcorn-like texture you see is the 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬, the oldest and most battered part of the Moon. The 9mm eyepiece really brought out the 3D depth of these ancient craters.

🌑 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐚 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬: The smooth, dark grey area (visible in the wide shot) is 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐦. It’s not water, but a massive plain of solidified lava where you can see crater walls rising from the flat floor.

🪐 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 : We swung the telescope over to catch the ringed planet before it set. The rings are currently tilted almost 𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐧 to Earth, which is why Saturn looks like a unique oval or 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 right now instead of a wide open circle.

👑 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬: Later in the night, 𝐉𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫 rose in the East, shining incredibly bright right next to the "Twin Stars" 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐱 (in the Gemini constellation). Seeing the King of Planets joined by the twins was the perfect way to end the session!

This memorable session was expertly led by 𝐂𝐄𝐓𝐂 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐝𝐚𝐫 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐫, whose guidance made the night truly exceptional.

Crescent Emerging Technologies Centre (CETC) proudly conducted another impactful workshop for Cambridge and College students, focusing on the 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐖𝐞𝐛 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬.

The session was led by 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐝𝐚𝐫 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐫, who guided students from the foundational concepts of 𝐇𝐓𝐌𝐋, 𝐂𝐒𝐒, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐉𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭 to the broader world of 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬, covering its history, evolution, and a complete roadmap for becoming a skilled WordPress developer.

The workshop was interactive, practical, and well-paced—giving students hands-on clarity on how modern websites are built.

SICAS DHA hosted a 3-day STEAM event from Friday, 21st November to Sunday, 23rd November 2025, bringing together creativity, curiosity, and competition.

Crescent Model Higher Secondary School participated with two enthusiastic teams:
Crescent Emerging Technologies Centre (CETC) – 6 members
Senior Boys Team – 5 members
All under the guidance of CETC Trainer Sir Fasih uz Zaman.

Event Achievements:
Team CETC secured the Shield in the Blueprint category, a 3-round challenge testing art and craft skills, presentation abilities, and time management.
The Senior Boys Team won the Shield in the Fleming’s Facet category, a thrilling biology-based competition featuring scavenger hunts and debate-style rounds.

Huge congratulations to both teams for their dedication, creativity, and outstanding performance!

Today, our CETC core team had the opportunity to officially visit the 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 & 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Department at 𝐋𝐚𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲. The visit proved highly valuable as we explored their 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐬, 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.

This exposure will directly support the planning and development of our upcoming 𝐂𝐄𝐓𝐂 𝐏𝐨𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭, helping us adopt best practices and improve our own studio setup.

We’re delighted to share that Day 2 of our Introduction to ICT workshop has been completed with great enthusiasm and active participation!

Today’s session focused on practical, hands-on learning with:

📊 MS Excel — basics, formulas and organizing data, student results
🎤 MS PowerPoint — designing clean, effective presentations

Our teachers practiced each tool step by step and showed excellent progress throughout the session.

Crescent Emerging Technologies Centre-CETC hosted a peaceful and awe-inspiring super moon viewing session on the rooftop, where staff, students and guests enjoyed the beauty of the moon up close through a telescope. It was a truly relaxing evening filled with wonder, laughter, and celestial magic under the night sky.
