Chughtai Public Library Chughtai Public Library is a non-profit educational facility that offers equal access to education It is a non profit organization.

Chughtai Public Library is a humble effort to collect, organize, preserve and make available to the yearning ,unaffording common man every source of pure knowledge. It is a resource of antique and contemporary books and journals covering a wide range of subjects including art, culture, science, education, jurisprudence, medicine and philosophy. It collects under one roof information on every subject possible. The main objective of which is to establish a centre where students and aspiring scholars of all ages and disciplines from every walk of life and every strata of society can find an opportunity to learn and carry out research.In the world of Internet a lot of knowledge that hasn't been fortunate enough to be uploaded remains confined to rotting pages in withering books and with it is lost a lot of valuable priceless information and heritage.This house of knowledge aims at preserving just that to be able to pass on to the next generation their true assets. There are treasures of books lying in family libraries across Pakistan. In many cases the pioneers of these libraries have either passed away or for some reason are unable to maintain them. It has also been observed that either the precious books of these libraries are being disposed off as waste or are being exported to world renowned libraries. If we can bring these precious documents under one roof it will be a great service to the nation. Let us hold on to what is ours and enrich it, let us create a home to the only weapon we actually need: knowledge

کچھ جگہیں ایسی ہوتی ہیں جو انسان کے اندر ایک نئی دنیا آباد کر دیتی ہیں۔لائبریری بھی ایسی ہی ایک جگہ ہے۔یہاں ہر کتاب ایک دروازہ ہے۔
ایسی دنیا کا دروازہ جہاں انسان اپنے معمول سے بلند ہو کر سوچتا ہے، اپنے سوالوں سے مکالمہ کرتا ہے اور کبھی کبھی خود اپنے آپ سے بھی ملاقات کر لیتا ہے۔
یہاں کتابیں صرف الماریوں میں نہیں رہتیں، انسانوں کے کردار کا حصہ بن جاتی ہیں۔یہاں آنے والا طالبِ علم صرف کتاب نہیں کھولتا،
وہ اپنے امکانات کھولتا ہے۔

یہاں بیٹھنے والا نوجوان صرف صفحات نہیں پڑھتا،
وہ اپنے مستقبل کے نقشے پڑھتا ہے۔

یہاں آنے والا بچہ صرف کہانی نہیں سنتا،
وہ تخیل کی وہ دنیا دریافت کرتا ہے جہاں خواب حقیقت کا پہلا قدم بنتے ہیں۔

اور شاید یہی کسی لائبریری کی سب سے بڑی کامیابی ہے کہ وہ انسان کو صرف زیادہ پڑھا لکھا نہیں بلکہ زیادہ باشعور، زیادہ حساس اور زیادہ انسان بنا دے۔

چغتائی ڈیجٹل لائبریری — علم و تحقیق کا بے بہا خزانہ!

تاریخ جب کسی قوم کے عظیم معمار کا محاکمہ کرتی ہے تو وہ صرف اس کے سیاسی معرکوں اور تقاریر کو نہیں ناپتی، بلکہ اس کی دور اندیشی اور اسٹریٹجک بصیرت کو بھی ترازو میں تولتی ہے۔ بانیٔ پاکستان قائد اعظم محمد علی جناحؒ کی شخصیت کو عام طور پر ایک لاثانی قانون دان اور بے باک سیاسی رہنما کے طور پر دیکھا جاتا ہے، لیکن ان کی محفوظ شدہ تاریخی دستاویزات (Quaid-i-Azam Papers, National Archives of Pakistan) اس حقیقت کو روزِ روشن کی طرح عیاں کرتی ہیں کہ وہ نوخیز ریاستِ پاکستان کی جغرافیائی، معاشی اور بالخصوص آبی سلامتی (Water Security) کے تمام باریک پہلوؤں سے گہری تکنیکی واقفیت رکھتے تھے۔
قيامِ پاکستان سے قبل جب پنجاب کی تقسیم کی بحث عروج پر تھی اور ریڈکلف لائن کا تعین کیا جا رہا تھا، تو قائد اعظم کی میز پر صرف آبادی کے اعداد و شمار موجود نہیں تھے، بلکہ ان کے پاس خطے کے تمام نہری نظام، ڈیموں کی ساخت اور ہائیڈرو الیکٹرک (آبی بجلی) کے تکنیکی خدوخال پر مشتمل مفصل رپورٹیں موجود تھیں۔
ان دستاویزات کا گہرا مطالعہ ظاہر کرتا ہے کہ قائد اعظم اور ان کے تکنیکی مشیر محض سیاسی نعروں پر نہیں، بلکہ ایک مربوط علمی و سٹریٹجک فریم ورک پر کام کر رہے تھے:
ہائیڈرو الیکٹرک اور آبپاشی کے منصوبے: دستاویزات میں دریائے ستلج پر بھاکڑا ڈیم اور ننگل پروجیکٹ، بیاس پر لارجی ڈیم اور روہتانگ سرنگ، چناب پر دھین گڑھ ڈیم اور مرہو سرنگ، نیز ٹونس اور جہلم کے منصوبوں کی بجلی پیدا کرنے کی گنجائش (Mega Watts) اور سیرابی کے حجم کا دقیق محاسبہ موجود تھا۔
پانی کو ہتھیار بنانے کے خدشات: دستاویز میں موجود یہ تاریخی اور حساس حاشیہ—"This supply in the Chenab (Chandra) can easily be interfered with..."—ثابت کرتا ہے کہ بانیٔ پاکستان کو وقت سے پہلے اس سٹریٹجک خطرے کا مکمل ادراک تھا کہ اگر بالائی علاقوں (کشمیر و مشرقی پنجاب) پر مخالف قوتوں کا تسلط رہا، تو وہ پاکستان کے پانی کو روک کر یا موڑ کر ریاست کو بنجر کر سکتے ہیں۔

چغتائی ڈیجیٹل لائبریری علم کا ایک خزانہ ہے۔ یہاں محفوظ نادر و نایاب کتب علم کے متلاشی افراد کے لیے قیمتی سرمایہ ہیں۔ اسی گراں قدر ذخیرے میں شامل ہے:

منطق الطیر (پرندوں کی کانفرنس) یہ فارسی ادب کی ایک اثر انگیز مثنوی ہے جس کے خالق فرید الدین عطار ہیں۔ یہ کتاب محض پرندوں کی ایک حکایتی داستان نہیں بلکہ انسان کے باطن، خود شناسی، روحانی سفر اور حقیقتِ مطلقہ کی جستجو کو تمثیلی انداز میں بیان کرتی ہے۔ اس کی مرکزی داستان میں پرندے اپنے بادشاہ سیمرغ کی تلاش میں سفر کرتے ہیں، اور یہ سفر دراصل انسان کے اپنے باطن اور حقیقت کی طرف سفر کی علامت بن جاتا ہے
کتاب کا عنوان ’’منطق الطیر‘‘ قرآنِ مجید میں حضرت سلیمانؑ کے پرندوں کی زبان سمجھنے کے ذکر سے ماخوذ تصور کیا جاتا ہے۔ عطار نے اس عنوان کو ایک صوفیانہ تمثیل کے لیے استعمال کیا۔ اس داستان میں تمام پرندے اپنے لیے ایک بادشاہ چاہتے ہیں۔ ہدہد انہیں بتاتا ہے کہ ان کا حقیقی بادشاہ سیمرغ ہے، مگر سیمرغ تک پہنچنے کے لیے انہیں ایک طویل اور دشوار سفر کرنا ہوگا۔پرندے اپنے بادشاہ کی تلاش میں سفر کا ارادہ کرتے ہیں۔ ہُدہُد ان کی رہنمائی کرتا ہے اور انہیں سیمرغ کی تلاش کے لیے ایک طویل روحانی سفر پر آمادہ کرتا ہے۔ راستے میں انہیں سات وادیوں سے گزرنا پڑتا ہے:
وادیِ طلب
وادیِ عشق
وادیِ معرفت
وادیِ استغنا
وادیِ توحید
وادیِ حیرت
وادیِ فقر و فنا
اس سفر میں پرندے مختلف عذر پیش کرتے ہیں۔ کوئی دنیا سے وابستگی، کوئی خوف، کوئی محبت اور کوئی اپنی کمزوری کو سفر سے رکنے کا سبب بناتا ہے۔ آخرکار بہت سے پرندے سفر کی سختیوں کے باعث راستے ہی میں رہ جاتے ہیں ۔ ہدہد انہیں سمجھاتا ہے کہ حقیقت کی تلاش آسان نہیں؛ اس کے لیے ترکِ تعلقات، مجاہدہ، عشق اور خودی سے گزرنے کی ضرورت ہے۔
اور صرف تیس پرندے سیمرغ تک پہنچتے ہیں۔ وہاں انہیں یہ حقیقت منکشف ہوتی ہے کہ جس سیمرغ کی وہ تلاش کر رہے تھے، اس حقیقت کا تعلق خود ان کے اپنے وجود سے ہے۔

عطار نے پرندوں کے سفر کو وسیلہ بنا کر یہ دکھایا ہے کہ منزل تک پہنچنے کے لیے صرف راستہ طے کرنا کافی نہیں؛ سالک کو خود اپنے اندر بھی ایک تبدیلی سے گزرنا پڑتا ہے۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ منطق الطیر فارسی ادب کی ایک ایسی کلاسیکی تخلیق بن گئی ہے جسے ادبی، صوفیانہ، فلسفیانہ اور انسانی نفسیات کے مختلف زاویوں سے پڑھا جا سکتا ہے۔

Chughtai Public Library recently hosted a special cultural presentation, “Discover Wisconsin: Culture, Community and Life in America’s Dairyland,” at CPL Gulberg, Lahore.

The session was led by Ms. Holly Selwitschka, Director, Kimberly Public Library, Wisconsin, USA, who shared fascinating insights into Wisconsin’s history, communities, Native heritage, agriculture, landmarks, festivals, food traditions and everyday life.

Through captivating photographs, participants explored the unique cultural landscape of Wisconsin while discovering the many similarities and shared values that connect communities across the world. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for cultural exchange, learning, and building connections between two library communities across continents.
