The current conduct of policymakers raises pertinent questions regarding the efficacy of our educational system, underscoring a potential deficiency in its foundational principles. It is disconcerting to witness those entrusted with the stewardship of quality education engaging in actions that seem antithetical to their role. The advocacy for private universities by an incumbent policymaker, particularly in the absence of clear benefits upon retirement, prompts speculation regarding underlying motives, including the possibility of coercive tactics aimed at the private education sector. Such actions may be perceived as a betrayal of the public sector, thereby exacerbating existing challenges and perpetuating a discourse characterized by unsubstantiated justifications and propagandistic narratives.
