Proud Moment for UET Lahore 🇵🇰✨

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir represented Pakistan at the UNESCO 2026 Leadership Policy Dialogue in Kathmandu, Nepal, where he delivered a powerful presentation on building an AI-ready higher education workforce through teacher professional development.

His vision was also highlighted in an exclusive UNESCO interview, while his policy recommendations are set to be considered for the official South Asia policy framework. Through high-level engagements with Vice Chancellors and representatives from UNESCO, ADB, China, and South Asian countries, UET Lahore proudly strengthened Pakistan’s voice in regional academic leadership.

We are proud to share the achievement of our alumnus, Muhammad Irzam Liaqat, who has successfully completed his PhD from IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca (2022–2026). His doctoral dissertation, titled “Beyond the Ideal: Multimodal Learning with Imperfect Data Conditions,” focused on advancing artificial intelligence and machine learning systems capable of learning effectively from incomplete and imperfect real-world data.

Muhammad Irzam completed his MSc in Computer Science from the Department of Computer Science, UET Lahore (2019–2021), and later served the department as a Lecturer from 2021–2022 before pursuing his doctoral studies in Italy.

His academic journey reflects the growing global impact of UET Lahore graduates in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Multimodal Learning, and Data Science. We congratulate him on this remarkable achievement and wish him continued success in his future research and professional endeavors.

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore proudly announces the remarkable achievement of its distinguished alumni, Mr. Shoaib Rafique (Session 2018–2022) and Mr. Shahbaz Rafique (Session 2021–2025), who have become the first Pakistani founders and startup to be awarded the Latvia Startup Visa, launching their AI-powered venture Ryzent AI in Latvia and operating under the support of the Latvian Government.

Shoaib and Shahbaz, both graduates of the Computer Science Department at UET Lahore, co-founded Ryzent AI — an all-in-one AI-powered platform designed to help tech startups and scaling teams manage their entire operations under one roof, replacing tool sprawl with a single intelligent solution.

What makes their story even more remarkable is that Ryzent AI is not their first rodeo. The Rafique brothers are seasoned entrepreneurs who have built and operated multiple ventures, including Tiers Limited, alongside 2–3 other businesses — demonstrating a rare entrepreneurial depth at such a young age. Their hunger to build has taken them across the world, having travelled to 10–15 countries globally, attending startup events, building networks, and gaining first-hand exposure to international business ecosystems. This breadth of experience — spanning industries, borders, and cultures — is what has sharpened their vision and given Ryzent AI its truly global edge.

In a continued testament to their vision and global ambition, Ryzent AI has recently been selected by the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP), Doha, for incubation. Both founders have also been deemed eligible for the prestigious Jusoor 10-Year Residency Program of Qatar — a recognition reserved for exceptional entrepreneurs and innovators.

Their journey — from the classrooms of UET Lahore to the international startup stage — stands as a shining example of what Pakistani talent can achieve on the global level. We are incredibly proud of Shoaib and Shahbaz and hope their story inspires the next generation of student entrepreneurs to dream boldly, build fearlessly, and represent Pakistan with excellence.

Ms. Alaina Faisal has demonstrated exceptional academic excellence and professional dedication throughout her educational journey. She successfully completed a prestigious double Master’s degree under the renowned Erasmus Mundus scholarship program in EDISS (Engineering of Data Intensive Intelligent Software Systems), a highly competitive international program aimed at developing expertise in advanced software systems and intelligent technologies.

A Master’s Degree in Computer Science with Honors from University of L'Aquila
