The central Idea of creating this society is to make students excel and outstanding in the media industry. We provide them interactive sessions, seminars, internships and all significant things which are vital for a media student to procure skills.

The incredible Prof. Dr. Bushra Hameedur Rahman is among the esteemed members of the Steering Committee for Sahafi Summit 2024.

Prof. Dr. Bushra Hameedur Rahman is currently serving as the Dean at the School of Media and Mass Communication, Beaconhouse National University. Previously, she held the position of professor at the School of Communication Studies and served as the Chairperson of the Department of Journalism Studies at the University of the Punjab. Her research primarily critically explores the mass media discourses, focusing on their role in both dividing and uniting communities. Her research interests span across Orientalism, Feminism, and Muslim feminism, with a particular focus on the portrayal of Muslim women in Western media and religious discourses, as well as the representation of the West in the religious discourses of Pakistan.

Additionally, her work explores themes such as peace journalism and ethical values in communication education and practice.

Dr. Ahmed Usman is a Professor of Sociology at the Institute of Social and Cultural Studies, University of the Punjab Lahore. He holds a PhD in Sociology from University of Leeds, UK and a Postdoc from University of Warwick, UK. His teaching focuses upon qualitative research methods, global studies, culture and development, gender studies and cultural anthropology. Dr. Usman has the experience of working with other national and international organizations including International Labor Organization (ILO), The Deutsche Gesellschaft Fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Germany, and Population Council Pakistan on different operational research projects.

JMC is thrilled to announce that Mr. Rana Faizan Ali, Head of Department, recently participated in the prestigious National Media Workshop 14 organized by ISSRA NDU Islamabad. Over the course of a week, he delved into informative sessions on economy, finance, media literacy, art, culture, and more, while also engaging with top officials and experts in the field.
