We are pleased to announce that 𝗠𝘂𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝗺𝘇𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝗸𝗵𝘁𝗮𝗿, 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗿. 𝗦𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 at Government College University Lahore, has been appointed as the 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿 at the 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹-𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 on climate change, named the Local Conference of Youth (𝗟𝗖𝗢𝗬) Punjab held at Superior University Lahore.
During this impactful conference, he engaged with three pivotal panel discussions focused on:

*Socratea Exorrhiza* is a palm plant native of rain forest of South and North America, frequently present in *Amazon forest* is also known as walking plant. Because it literally moves but it is not as you are thinking, it extends its large thick roots towards area of excess sunlight gradually and leave its previous roots as dead and moves from one place to another in some days. ◦ گورمنٹ کالج لاہور علم و عشق کی وادی ہے ۔ یہاں علم کی بات ہوتی ہے اور عشق کا پرچار کیا جاتا ہے ۔ لوگ اپنے اندر کے اقبال اور فیض کو ڈھونڈنیں یہاں آتے ہیں ۔ مجھے اپنے دل میں چھپا اقبال تو ملا لیکن فیض والا میرا خمیر نہیں تھا ۔ اندر کا اقبال بالکل اصل اقبال جیسا تھا جسے بس علم کا امرت پینا تھا ۔ اِس اقبال کو اپنے اساتذہ سے بہت پیار تھا اور اسے بس ان سے کچھ سیکھنا تھا ۔
◦ میں یہاں ایک سال گزار چکا ہوں ۔ مجھے یہاں بہت خوب سیرت اساتذہ ملے ۔ میں پہلے دن جب کالج کی کلاس میں بیٹھا تھا تو ہاتھ کانپ رہے تھے کیونکہ کبھی اندازہ نہیں تھا کہ اتنی بڑی درسگاہ میں علم کی تحصیل مقدر بنے گی ۔ امام علی علیہ اسلام فرماتے ہیں کہ خدا سے علم نہیں مقدر مانگو کیونکہ میں نے بہت سے علم والوں کو مقدر والوں کی چاکری کرتے دیکھا ہے ۔ سو مقدر ہوا یہاں پڑھنا ۔ پہلی کلاس لی پروفیسر محمد جمیل اختر صاحب نے ۔۔۔ یہ وہ انسان ہیں جنہیں روئے زمین پر بابائے کیمسٹری کہہ دیا جائے تو بے جانہ ہو گا ۔ آدھ صدی سے زیادہ کیمسٹری پڑھا چکے ہیں اور ابھی بھی صبح سب سے پہلے کالج میں سر کی نیلی نمبر پلیٹ والی سفید کار کھڑی ہوتی ہے ۔ سر آج بھی ہم سے زیادہ وقت کے پابند اور ذمہ دار انسان ہیں ۔ سر کا دعوٰی ہے کہ انہوں نے آج تک کالج سے چھٹی نہیں کی ۔ سر کی عادات پورے کالج میں سب سے خوبصورت ہیں ۔ سر کا پہناوا اور اندازِ تخاطب نہایت دلفریب ہے ۔ میں نے ایک سال میں سر کے جوتوں پہ کوئی ایک بھی گرد کی لکیر نہیں دیکھی ۔ سر مجھے حسن صاحب کہا کرتے ہیں ۔۔۔ دل یوں خوشی سے بھر جاتا ہے جیسے آسمان کی سیر کیلیے نکلنے والا ہو ۔
◦ سر کے جملے مَیں ویسے ہی لکھتا ہوں جیسے سر نعیم اشرف کے لکھا کرتا تھا ۔ پروفیسر صاحب کے ہر جملے سے حکمت ٹپکتی ہے ۔ سر اس دنیا میں آٹھ دہائیوں سے زیادہ گزار چکے ہیں ۔ الحمدللہ سر اس وقت زندگی کی 84 بہار جی چکے ہیں لیکن اللہ کے کرم سے اب بھی ساٹھ سے کچھ اوپر لگتے ہیں ۔ شعبہ کیمسٹری میں سر کے شاگرد دنیا بھر میں پھیلے ہوئے ہیں ۔ سر کا کمال یہ ہے کہ آج بھی فرسٹ سیکنڈ ائیر کو کیمیات پڑھاتے ہیں اور لہجہ ویسا ہی ۵۷ سال پرانا خوبصورت ۔ سر مولانا طارق جمیل کے اور وسیم اکرم کے بھی استاد رہے ہیں اور آج بھی گورمنٹ کالج کی شان ہیں ۔ گورنمنٹ کالج کے سب سے سینئر استاد سے پڑھنے کا بھی لطف زندگی کے حسین تجربات میں سرِ فہرست ہے ۔ سر کی سب سے پیاری بات یہ ہے کہ وہ دوسرے روایتی اساتذہ کی طرح شاگردوں کو اپنے علم کے سمندر میں ڈبکی لگانے سے خائف نہیں کرتے بلکہ دعوت دیتے ہیں کہ آو اور اس سمندر میں اپنی کم علمی کی کشتیوں کو آگ لگا کر تیرو کہ علم کے سمندر میں ماہر تیراکی کے قابل ہوُ جاو ۔ سر کئی ممالک کا سفر کر چکے ہیں اور سر کو اپنا ماضی انگلیوں کے پوروں پر یاد ہے ۔۔۔
◦ سر کی مسکان بھی عجیب ہے ۔ بندہ جتنے بھی ذہنی شش و پنج میں مبتلا ہو ۔۔۔ سر کے ضحکہ کو دیکھ کر لب کھِل اٹھتے ہیں ۔ سر کمال انسان ہیں ۔ سر کی ایک مکمل تاریخ ہے جس سے ہمیں انہوں نے اشنا اس لیے کیا کہ زندگی کی تلخیوں کوسمجھ سکیں ۔ سر اپنی جوانی والی پِیری کو یوں بیان کرتے ہیں :
◦ “سخت محنت ؛ نیت نیک ۔۔ بیڑہ پار “
◦ سر کے بہترین جملوں میں سے ایک عرض کرتا چلوں ۔۔۔
◦ “ I listened ; I forgot … I Wrote ; I remembered … I Performed ; I Uderstood “
◦ سر جب بھی ہمارے ہاتھ رکے دیکھتے ہیں تو کہا کرتے ہیں “ لککھھھنا ہوتا ہے “ ۔۔۔ اوریہ گزشتہ جملہ بہت مشہور ہے سر کا ۔ یہ ہیں پروفیسر محمد جمیل اختر ۔۔۔ ان کے ساتھ تصویر ہونا کسی بادشاہِ سلطنت کے ساتھ تصویر ہونے سے زیادہ محبت انگیز احساس ہے ۔۔۔ اللہ سر جیسے برگد کے درخت کا سایہ اس کالج کے آنگن پر سلامت رکھے ۔ آمین !
