🎓 Welcoming the New Batch of 2026 | Geological Engineering & GIS & Remote Sensing
The Society of Geoscientists & Engineers (SGE), UET Lahore had the opportunity to conduct orientation sessions for the newly enrolled Batch 2026 of the Department of Geological Engineering, providing students with an overview of their degree, academic journey, career scope, opportunities, and the broader field of geosciences.
This year also marked an important milestone with the initiation of the Department of GIS & Remote Sensing. The newly enrolled students were also welcomed through a dedicated orientation session, introducing them to the scope of GIS, Remote Sensing, academic opportunities, and potential career pathways.
With the addition of this new department, SGE has also expanded its structure by introducing a dedicated GIS & Remote Sensing Wing, further strengthening the society's academic and technical scope.
The orientation sessions featured valuable guidance and presentations from our respected faculty members, including:

Their insights helped the new students gain a better understanding of their fields, academic pathways, professional opportunities, and the importance of developing a strong foundation throughout their university journey.
The event was coordinated and managed by the SGE Core Team, including Abid Abbas kareem , Muhammad Umer Yaqoob, Zainab Yasir and Ghania Shahwar, with the valuable support of volunteers from both the 24th and 25th Sessions. Their teamwork, coordination, and willingness to contribute played an important role in ensuring the smooth ex*****on of the orientation activities.
The sessions concluded with refreshments for the newly welcomed students, followed by an opportunity for interaction and networking.
A warm welcome to Batch 2026. We look forward to seeing you explore, learn, lead, and contribute to the growing community of Geoscientists, Engineers, and GIS & Remote Sensing professionals.
