With the endless efforts of Ms. Amna Afzal, Co-Incharge of our society and Lecturer of Geography Department, Geographical Society was able to step in to The Land of Giants. We appreciate your efforts and the spirit of a traveler you hold. You spiced up those memorable days of our tour with your passion and enthusiasm.
Geographical Society is thankful to Altama Track Tours who gave us the outstanding travel services and to the most humble and competent person, our tour guide, Mr. Ali Rehan who did not let his companions to be bored and with his knowledge about geography of Pakistan, influenced students and left a great impact on them. Last but not the least, we are thankful to our driver who made this impossible trip possible.
Geographical Society is thankful to every participant of this tour who cooperated and made this trip memorable and an unforgettable experience for all of us.

Geographical Society is excited to share this news with you that our honorable Society Incharge and Assistant Professor, Dr. Sahar Zia has applied to be one of 15 Fully Funded Delegates to attend HISA Youth Dialogue 2023 which is being organized by Headway Institute of Strategic Alliance (HISA) and is taking place in Madrid, Spain from August 17-20th, 2023.
The HISA Youth Dialogue is a unique event that will bring together professionals from different sectors to discuss the challenges of global governance, public administration, and social entrepreneurship.
We wish Dr. Sahar Zia best of luck for stepping into this awesome opportunity. May your hard work and perseverance pays off, Ameen!

Prime Minister's Youth Laptop Scheme Phase lll
The next Phase of the Prime Minister’s Laptops scheme has been launched on 29th May 2013 –
Registration is OPEN NOW.
The 100,000 laptops have been allocated for this Phase. The students enrolled in PhD, MS, M.Phil, Masters and Undergraduate (18 & 16 years) at Public sector Universities are encouraged to apply for Prime Minister’s Laptops Scheme.
HOW TO APPLY:
Students are advised to Apply Online by Registering or Updating Profile at the following link of Students' Service Portal. (Students can apply through web portal or through Mobile App).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
· The applicant must have a valid CNIC/ B-Form number.
· Must be a valid student as of closing date for application submission i.e., 30th Jun 2023 [details on given link of HEC].
· Students studying in public sector Universities/ Degree Awarding Institutes duly recognized by HEC (Except Distance learning).
o Students enrolled in PhD/ MS/ MPhil or equivalent 18-year program.
o Students enrolled in a 4-year or 5-year bachelor’s degree program (morning and evening).
o Students enrolled in MBA Program (3.5 years, 2.5 years, and 1.5 years).

Those already received laptops under any scheme in any phase (PM or CM) not to apply so that the deserving students will get the laptop.
The last date for registration is 20th June 2023. Only online registered applications are eligible for this scheme. There will be NO MANUAL form submission in this scheme.

Geography Department LCWU held GIS Exhibition where students of Semester VI has presented their NDVI Maps of difference cities of Punjab District including Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, Narowal and Gujranwala using ArcGIS based on real datasets. The faculty members assessed the student's their work and appreciated the hardwork and efforts of the course instructor Ms. Dania Amjad, Lecturer and her subordinates. Dr. Aysha Faisal, Senior faculty member praised the student and their passion. She also said that it will help research students to enhance their mapping skills. Dr. Nausheen Mazhar, Head Geography Department, said that such thought-provoking activities will bring a real revolutionary change in developing GIS based courses in our department.
