New Life Centre Ministries was pioneered and founded by Rev Shaukat Raz in 1989, who worked hard to establish this ministry in Lahore Pakistan. He reached to the bricks kiln's labour with the Gospel message, who live in desolated places. There are only few preachers who reach to that group with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Transport was hard to get, and sometimes there was no transport available at
all. He had to walk, used bicycle (old donated by one of his friend) or use other means of public transport he could find. However he always managed to reach to the groups with the teaching of the living word of God for five years. He feed the hungry souls with the peace of God. That was a very challenging time for him, but he was obedient to God's calling and was always patient, even he suffered many times. On one occasion when he was retuning home after the meeting from a long distance he met a police man, who was on duty in a desolate place and inquired of him that where from he is coming. He told him that I am a Gospel preacher and going home after the meeting. The police man told him that you know this is dangerous area and some one can kill you. His response was that my God will protect me. The police man was looking straggly at him, and told him please careful about yourself.
1994 he was with his friend from Malaysia on Multan Road area, when they were waiting for the bus two men came and stood on some distance. They were looking very furious. When Rev Raz asked them where they were going, they responded rudely and inquired where are your other friends. He told them that we were preaching the word of God in a bricks kiln. They told there was a robbery and they are searching for the robbers. He told them boldly that we are just the preachers and showed them the Bibles. It was the month of November 1994, his friend Pastor Michael Martin (Malaysia) was feeling cold. He went under a shelter, while we were waiting for the bus. These men after ten minutes came with a group of 10 people holding guns in their hand. When Rev Shaukat saw the group of 10 persons coming toward to them, he raised his hand and prayed Lord Jesus help us in this lonely place. By then the group had surrounded us and start asking different questions. Then they asked about Pastor Michael, I pointed where he was and they surrounded him and tried to communicate with him. Being a foreigner he could not understand their language. After few minute one of them said let us go do not disturb these gentle people. And they left us without any harm. Thank you father we shouted in our hearts and rejoiced with His angels. Rev Shaukat also arranged open air crusades in Lahore, and some other areas as well. There were financial lack, but he never gave up and kept working to reach the
unreached in Pakistan. The respond was tremendous. Many received the Lord Jesus Christ their personal saviour in their lives. Many were touched and challenged, some were delivered from depression, oppression and sickness by the power of God in each meeting. At that initial stage Rev Raz`worked a small group of volunteer workers. In 1996 God spoke to him to build a church in Yauhanabad Lahore. Yauhanabad is located outskirt of Lahore and is very prominent Christian location about three miles radius. It consist all denomination churches some are in big huge buildings and some are house churches. Looking at this situation Rev Raz began to inquire God , where he should build the Church. Then God showed him a very good location. The land was deposited in February 1997 and in June the same year it was dedicated for God's work. The full price was paid off at the end of 1999 through various donations and fund raised by Rev Shaukat , Mrs Pearl Raz, as well as through New Life Global Ministries UK funding. The building work began in September 2000, when Rev Shaukat and Mrs pearl Raz visited Pakistan together. They hold three days crusade near the Church land. At the same time they laid the building foundation. The building was completed in November 2002. On 3rd November 2002 that building was dedicated for God's work in Yauhanabad Lahore. Dr Femi Balogun (NLGM Trustee) Rev Shaukat and Mrs Pearl Raz were also there for dedication, celebration and thanksgiving. There are seven rooms on the ground floor and a small hall for small gathering. There is also open space for big gatherings. There is primary school in function on the ground floor rooms. 100 children are being educated there.
