Urgent call for immediate action 🚨
Afghan Initiative Society at University of Lahore raises grave concern over the detention of three Afghan students—Mohammad Haroon Rashid (Computer Science, Ahmadullah Ahrar (Public Health ,Abdulrazaq Omar (Computer Science, who were detained on 5 May 2026 in Islamabad.
These young students came with hope, seeking knowledge and a better future through education. Instead, they now face uncertainty and distress. This situation not only impacts their lives but also sends a troubling message about the safety and rights of international students.
We strongly urge authorities, human rights organizations, academic institutions, and the international community to take immediate action. Their voices must not be silenced, and their rights must not be ignored. Stand up, speak out, and show solidarity.
Education is a right, not a crime.
Justice delayed is justice denied.
Call for their immediate and unconditional release.

The Afghan Initiative Society, on April 22, had the honor of hosting an inspiring and deeply meaningful session with the Chairman Mr.Awais Raoof (BoG) at The University of Lahore.
What made this session truly special was not only the wisdom he shared, but also the warmth and sincerity with which he delivered it. He spoke about the importance of education, the richness of culture, and how selflessness plays a vital role in shaping our character and future. Rather than feeling like a formal lecture, his words felt like genuine guidance from someone who truly cares about the growth and success of students.
His message resonated deeply with everyone present. It was one of those rare experiences that stays with you long after it ends—thought-provoking, uplifting, and genuinely motivating.
As we reflect on this enriching session, we also look forward to our next gathering, where each of us will have the opportunity to share our own life stories, experiences, and the lessons that have shaped who we are.
