In 2024, Shab e Barat begins in the evening of Sunday February 25.
The occasion is believed to involve Allah descending to earth from the heavens and offering his mercy to people.
Muslim people will pray for themselves and their ancestors, both dead and alive, for forgiveness.
It is seen as a night of absolution, deliverance and salvation, and in many countries, the phrase ‘Shab e Barat’ means ‘night of innocence’.
Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them.

International Mother Language Day is celebrated on February 21st every year to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism. The day is observed to raise awareness about the importance of preserving and protecting mother languages, which are the languages that we learn from our parents or family members in our early years of life.
The history of this day can be traced back to February 21, 1952, when students in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, protested for the recognition of their mother tongue, Bangla, as an official language of then-East Pakistan. The protests were met with violence, and several students were killed. This event, known as the Language Movement, ultimately led to the recognition of Bangla as an official language of Pakistan in 1956.
In 1999, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) officially recognized February 21st as International Mother Language Day to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism.
