The Garrison Degree College was founded by LT Gen Humayun Khan Bangash, HI(M), T.Bt. The College has become an established center of learning for Sons and wards of military and civil personnel. It has fulfilled the long felt need of a college in the cantonment area and the one which provides quality education at intermediate and graduation level in disciplined and profoundly academic environment.
Since the commencement of regular intermediate classes in 1995, the college has made great strides in education. Degree classes with affiliation to the University of the Punjab were introduced in 1997. In January 2000, the management took an important step by introducing a professional course viz “B.Sc. (Hons) Computer Science “ (4 years Course ) affiliated with University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. This Course is different from traditional bachelor in computer science taught in some of the IT institutions. This degree course mainly focuses on advance courses to make students capable of facing all challenges in their professional pursuits, techniques and methods are used in all courses so that students can graduate with portfolio of market skills.
