In the majestic embrace of the historic Oval of Government College University Lahore, the celebrations of Basant unfolded as a rare and meaningful cultural revival. The event, organized by GC University Lahore under the visionary leadership of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry, stood as a testament to the institution’s enduring commitment to preserving heritage while nurturing a vibrant academic and cultural environment. Thoughtfully participated in by the members of the Dr. Leitner Society for History, the celebration beautifully captured the spirit of spring, tradition, and collective memory. The atmosphere was further enriched by the gracious presence of the respected Director of Intermediate Studies Mr. Muhammad Siddique Awan and the esteemed Advisor of Dr. Leitner Society for History Mr. Hamza Mufti, whose participation added dignity and scholarly depth to the occasion.
Marking a truly historic moment, kite flying was permitted after nearly two and a half decades, transforming the skies above the Oval into a living symbol of cultural continuity and renewal. The soaring kites echoed the revival of a long-cherished tradition, reconnecting generations with Punjab’s festive soul.
