🔹The Department of Neurology, SIMS/Services Hospital Lahore, led by Prof. Dr. Zohra Khanum and working under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Adnan Aslam, provided timely and expert care through the Chief Minister’s Stroke Management Center, ensuring critical treatment even during Eid.

National Epilepsy Day 2026 was commemorated at Servies Institute of Medical Science (SIMS) with great enthusiasm. The event was led by Prof. Dr. Zohra Khanum, Principal SIMS. Dr Imran Zaidi MS SHL graciously participated in walk SHL. The event was organised by Associate Professor Dr Adnan Aslam Head of Neurology SIMS
Neurology.Professor Dr Aftab,Professor Dr Asif Gul,Professor Dr Shoaib,Assistant Professor Dr Sajjad Bajwa,Associate Professor Dr Azhar , Nursing suprintendent Razia aling with nursing staff was also present.
The occasion began with an Epilepsy Awareness Walk, followed by an interactive lecture on epilepsy management which was Conducted by Dr Muhammad Adnan Aslam Associate Professor Head of Neurology SIMS who through clinical scenarios highlighted practical aspects of epilepsy management with participants . The event aimed to raise awareness about epilepsy and enhance knowledge on its management among medical professionals.
The walk and lecture were part of the activities organized by the Department of Neurology, SIMS, to mark National Epilepsy Day.

Medical Unit–4, Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS), successfully organized a workshop titled “Publish or Perish: The Science Behind Stethoscope” at Services Hospital Lahore. The session focused on strengthening research skills among Postgraduate Residents, House Officers, and Medical Students.
The workshop comprehensively covered research design, formulation of research questions, study methodology, biostatistics, ethical considerations, proposal writing, and manuscript development, reflecting a strong commitment to evidence-based practice and academic growth.
The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Zohra Khanum (Principal, SIMS) and hosted by Prof. Dr. Asif Mehmood (Head of Department, Medical Unit–4). Valuable insights were shared by Prof. Dr. Sobia Qazi, Dr. Muhammad Awais Abid, and Dr. Saira Burney. Dr. Faiza Fatima (House Officer, M-4) delivered an engaging presentation.
Medical Unit–4 continues to promote research excellence and scholarly development among future healthcare professionals.

Ethics in Research – Faculty Development Workshop (PERL Module)
The workshop was organized by the Institute of Endocrinology & Metabolic Diseases in collaboration with the Department of Medical Education. The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Zohra Khanum, Principal SIMS/SHL, and was graced by Prof. Javed Raza Gardezi as Chief Guest.
The academic leadership and faculty participation included Prof. Khadija Irfan Khawaja (Professor of Endocrinology), Prof. Farhana Sajjad (Professor of Anatomy), Prof. Shahzad Anwar (Professor of Urology), Professor Nadeem Aslam, Director Medical Education, and Professor Khalid Masood, Incharge PERL Module.
Key discussions focused on principles of research ethics and publication integrity, informed consent beyond documentation, responsible digital citizenship and professional identity, and ethical accountability with patient safety.
The workshop reflected SIMS’ continued commitment to academic excellence, ethical standards, and professional development in medical education.

White Coat Ceremony (first year session 2026) Services Institute of medical Sciences was held at SIMS auditorium.
Respected guests Dr. Saqib Aziz, CEO Punjab Health Care Commission & Professor Aamir Zaman khan were warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Zohra Khanum, Principal SIMS/SHL, along with the faculty of SIMS/SHL. The plantation activity was held in the campus, where the Chief Guests, along with the Principal and faculty members, planted saplings. This initiative symbolized growth, sustainability, and the nurturing of future healthcare professionals, and served as a meaningful gesture to commemorate the occasion.
The prestigious White Coat Ceremony was held at the SIMS Auditorium, marking a significant milestone for the first-year students. Prof. Dr. Mahliqa Masud head of Obstetrics & Gynecology welcomed the audience. Event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem.
Principal SIMS, Prof. Dr. Zohra Khanum adressed the audience. Prof. Nadeem Aslam administered the oath to the students, symbolizing their entry into the medical profession.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shoaib, announced the donning of white coats to the students, setting a warm and inspiring tone for the event. Prof. Dr. Amir Zaman and Dr. Saqib Aziz, Chief Guests, then shared their valuable insights with the students, emphasizing the responsibility and dedication required in the field of medicine.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Khadija Irfan, acknowledging the contributions of all attendees and making the ceremony memorable.This ceremony reflects SIMS' commitment to nurturing future healthcare professionals with the values of compassion, responsibility, and excellence.
